REVIEW | YesToGrapefruit Dark Spot Correcting Body Creme

Hey everyone! Today's post is all about the YesToGrapefruit Dark Spot Correcting Body Creme. It promises to help diminish the appearance of dark spots and make skin feel firmer, more resilient, softer, and smoother.

REVIEW | YesToGrapefruit Dark Spot Correcting Body Creme
I have some hyperpigmentation scars on the backs of my calves after a bad hiking incident from almost 2 years ago. Some bugs bit me and I had a really bad reaction to it and my calves swelled up and itched so bad for 3 days! After that ordeal, I was left with these massive scars on my calves! I was so self-conscious about them, refusing to wear shorts or anything that didn't cover them up. Eventually, I just started wearing shorts and dresses again because it was summer. However, when people started commenting on them, I started to get self-conscious again. I picked this up, hoping that it will work for me.

The YesToGrapefruit Dark Spot Correcting Body Creme promises to deliver results after 4 weeks. The ingredients list is as follows: Water, Glycerin, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, Polyglyceryl-3 Beeswax, Behenyl Alcohol, Cetyl Esters, Cetearyl Glucoside, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Extract*, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Gluconolactone, Coco-Glucoside, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Peucedanum Ostruthium Leaf Extract, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Calcium Gluconate, Capsicum Frutescens Fruit Extract, Fragrance, Limonene, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate.

The star ingredients in this are grapefruit and Masterwort and Capsicum Fruit Extract. Grapefruit is rich in vitamin C and lycopene (tomatoes are also a good source of this--maybe that's why it's used in a lot of homemade brightening facials!). Vitamin C has done wonders for fading my acne scars so I'm sure it works! Masterwork and capsicum fruit extract is supposedly good at protecting and soothing puffy skin.

Likes:

The scent is very citrus-y and I love those scents for the summer because it's fresh. The creme is white, which is good because there's no added dyes. You don't need a lot for the whole body. I like how to doesn't leave a greasy or sticky feeling after application. It was a little heavy feeling for the summer but now that it's fall, I appreciate the heaviness more.

Dislikes:

I find that this creme is harder to rub and sink in, taking longer than other body butters that I've used. I feel that it only keeps my skin moisturized for 4-6 hours. After that, it starts to feel dry and itchy again. I have this area on my thigh that itches constantly and that is my test area for how moisturizing a product is. It barely lasts there for 3 hours. I've been using it on and off since the summer, so maybe that's why I haven't seen any results.

Bottom Line:

I don't think I would repurchase. It is okay at moisturizing, but I need more hydration in the fall/winter time. I'll try using it some more to see if it helps with my dark patches but so far, they're disappearing on their own. I had wanted them gone for the summer but now that it's winter, I'm in no hurry.

So that's it for this post! I hope y'all are enjoying the daily postings :) If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to leave them down below!

MWAH Musings ♡
  • It was my birthday recently and even though I told people not to get me things, they still did (thanks though XD). I feel that as I grow older, I don't really expect anything on my birthday, which makes it an even more happy event when someone does give me something!
  • I got a new phone (thanks Dad!) and it's so amazing. I've had the same phone for 4 -5 years now and it still worked and everything, but I felt like I needed an upgrade.
  • I have a paper due, three reflections, (due tonight!) and a potluck to attend--GAH!
XOXO,
MWAH ♥
