FOTD | Outta This World: featuring Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Solstice

Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Solstice dupes swatches review

Hey everyone! I promised a swatch of this awesome Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Solstice over on my Instagram but my internet was so spotty at home. It took a while so I included a FOTD to make up for it.

Solstice is described as a metallic pink-red w/ green 3-D sparkle and shift. Upon first glance, it looked similar to MUG Pigment in Insomnia and Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette in Definer. Though it has the same aqua sparkle in direct light, the base color is a pinkish red that shows up in the shade. The texture is a bit dustier, similar to a pressed pigment so don't rub your brush in it too roughly. Solstice has a translucency about it; the sparkle helps it look more opaque but my skin color shows through a bit with one layer. Two layers or a colored base helps it appear opaquely without skin showing through. The sparkle is gorgeous without feeling gritty or oversized; it reminds me of pixie dust, very fine and delicate. I used a dark brown eyeliner below which made the aqua sparkle more intensely. I also layered it over a navy blue liner and a burgundy liner which also made the aqua sparkle look more intense.

Without further ado, here are the swatches!

PRODUCT SMACKDOWN | Battle of the Liquid Lipsticks: High-end vs Drugstore

stila beso lipstick swatches dupes reviews, kat von d bachelorette lipstick swatches dupes reviews, rimmel apopcaliptic big bang swatches, dupes
Not sure if y'all have noticed, but I've been on a liquid lipstick craze recently. Doesn't help that the drugstore has released several that are comparable to the high end versions. I've done a review on the Rimmel London Provocalips, Show Off Lip Lacquers, and the Show Off Matte Lip Velvets so head on over there for affordable liquid lipstick options. For this post, I'm going to be focusing on the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick  and the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. Also, I'll be showing some drugstore dupes if these are a little bit out of your budget so keep on reading!

REVIEW | Rimmel London Show Off Lip Velvet

rimmel london show off lip velvet atomic rose meteoric matte swatches and review,
Quite easy to tell where I picked these lovely lippies up from, haha. Annoying sticker aside, the Rimmel London Show Off Matte Lip Velvets were released early this year. These lip lacquers claim to be a "weightless liquid colour with a velvety smooth finish". The "earth-shattering intense colour stays true for up to 8 hours." How much of this is true? Well, keep reading to find out!

REVIEW | Rimmel London Provocalips, pucker up swatches, i'll call you swatches, make your move swatches, heartbreaker swatches
Hey everyone! It's been a hot minute since I last blogged but I was bogged down with 3 midterms. Now that that nightmare is over, I've had time to recuperate and catch up on my sleep :D My sleep routine is not regular just yet but I'm just glad to not be a walking zombie everywhere. Anyhoo, I have the Rimmel London Provocalips up for discussion today! These have been out for such a long time but I couldn't find swatches for some of them so I thought I'd speak my two cents as well. Keep on reading for the deets and swatches!

UNBOXING | Tarte "Be Your Own Tartetist" February 2015 Set

Tarte Be Your Own Tartetist Review, maracuja miracle foundcealer medium review, gifted mascara review, lipsurgence liquid lipshine exquisite review
My name is Cindy and I am a Tarte addict. There, I said it. No brand is as well represented in my makeup collection, which is much larger than what one would attribute to one sane person. It all started a couple of years ago when my mom (re) gifted me a Tarte Eye Couture Day to Night Palette, which I actually reviewed for y'all waaaay back in my early blogging days. Not only can I expect the packaging to be gorgeous, the product usually never fails me either. The purple theme jives quite well with me and the mission statement is one I can stand behind. I was quite the avid environmentalist in my teens so this brand speaks to me. I even created a 30 minute PowerPoint presentation and habitat about the Amazon rainforest for my AP Environmental Science culmination project (which bored my classmates and was quite overkill, if I'm being completely honest).

Going back to what this post is supposed to be about, when I heard that Tarte was releasing another TSV with QVC, I was intrigued but the items and colors didn't exactly wow me. It wasn't until I saw a slew of Youtube tutorials that I thought, why the heck not...I can always return it if I hated it. I, of course, got it on Auto Delivery as I like keeping my options open and *spoiler alert* so glad I did! Proceed with caution as I turn on "full-on" fan girl mode to the max ;)

REVIEW | Smashbox Full Exposure Travel Palette

smashbox full exposure travel palette review swatches
I got this two months ago during the Sephora VIB Rouge Sale and I've used it a couple of times since then. Today, I'm going to review the Smashbox Full Exposure Travel Palette. It's been out for quite some time but this is the first time I've tried Smashbox's products, so needless to say, I was quite excited. I was interested in the Full Exposure Palette but before I invested in the full size, I tried the travel one. Does it live up to my expectations? Read on to find out!

REVIEW ┊ LORAC Pro to Go Eye + Cheek Palette

Lorac pro to go palette review, lorac pro to go eyeshadow, lorac pro to go cheeks, lorac pro to go swatches
As the warmer months approach, travelling will be on a lot of people's agenda. Travelling light is ideal but my "be prepared for everything and anything" nature makes that an unattainable dream LOL *le sigh* When LORAC was exiting Sephora (WHY??) I was able to snag the LORAC Pro to Go Eye + Cheek Palette for a slightly discounted price. Since then, it's been a travelling staple for several reasons, of which I'll enumerate below!
