REVIEW | BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream

REVIEW | BareMinerals Ready Gel Complexion Rescue Cream 03 buttercream review and swatches
I haven't reviewed a new base product on here in a hot minute. The hunt for a lightweight product led me to the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. While I love my full coverage foundations as much as the next person, I haven't the time to apply a full face of makeup like I used to. I wanted something lightweight with just enough coverage, contains adequate SPF while being moisturizing at the same time. I've heard such good things about the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Cream (what I'll be calling it from now on since the full name is such a mouthful) so I decided to give it a spin.

REVIEW | LORAC Pro Palette

LORAC PRO PALETTE review swatches asian skin tone nc25
Lorac Pro Palette
You're probably wondering why I'm writing this post. Bought it way back in 2014 in this haul and if you've spent any amount of time here, you'll have figured out that this palette is my all time favorite eyeshadow palette, bar none. It is the only palette that pains me to leave at home when im right on space and will recommend this to everyone and their mother when asking my opinion when it comes to a palette that can truly do it all. When I realized that I've never dedicated an actual post to it, I immediately sought out to remedy that slight. Hopefully, you'll find my 2 cents helpful in convincing you that this is the only palette that I've come close to hitting pan on. This one is a long post so get a snack and some tea to get comfortable!

Ever had those days where you hardly had any sleep the night before and you've pressed the snooze alarm one too many times, giving you less than 10 minutes to get ready? Well, that's my everyday situation and most days, that's alright but some days, I have a presentation or something fancy to attend and my naked face won't cut it. That's where stick foundations come in to save the day (and my face)! The two that I tested are the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick and the Missha M Flawless Stick Foundation. Keep on reading to see which I think is better!

REVIEW┊ Supergoop! Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA+++

REVIEW┊ Supergoop! Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA+++

Though we are nearing the end of summer here in the Northern Hemisphere, SPF should be on everyone's mind (and face + body!) The Supergoop! Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA+++ has been the one that got me through this summer with NO sunburns and NO clogged pores. If the fact that more than 90% of the signs of aging are caused by the sun doesn't scare you, how about skin cancer being the most common cancer in the US? That's pretty frightening for my US readers... X.x

⇥ AT A GLANCE ⇤

The Supergoop! Everyday Sunscreen provides broad spectrum (UVA+ UVB ray protection) for face and body in an oil-free, non-comedogenic lotion. This moisturizing, lightweight, and fast absorbing formula is ideal for daytime. It's also cruelty-free--yay!

REVIEW┊ Paula's Choice Clear Regular Strength Kit

Review Paula's Choice Clear Regular Strength Kit skincare acne
I've been hinting at the new changes to my skincare routine in a couple of previous posts and here are the new additions! I'm just going to say it now: these products work without over-drying my skin. The Paula's Choice CLEAR line in Regular Strength really works and I stand behind these products 100%!

A bit of background on my skin--grab your drink of choice and get comfortable because it's a long one. I've always taken good care of my skin. Starting when I was 11, I was washing my face and applying sunscreen daily. I almost made it through high school with relatively clear skin. Starting my senior year, I just broke out around my chin and cheeks. Since prom was coming up, I was in a panic to get clear skin. Asking my sister for some advice, she recommended St. Ives, which I used up until my 1st year of university. The harsh apricot scrub really messed up my skin, causing breakouts and blemishes in areas I never broke out on before. I immediately repurposed the scrub into a foot scrub, which it did eerily well. I used up the cleanser and tried something else. After two years of trying out a ton of brands products in an attempt to clear my skin, it was dry in places, oily in others, irritated, and red. The blemishes I was dealing with are the ones that are stuck underneath the skin for a very long time, usually weeks or months. When they do decide to surface, they are almost always inflamed, red, tender to the touch, filled with pus and very large. At that stage, they take a week or more to go away, leaving my skin with a dark hyperpigmentation mark to remember it by. At my wits end, I decided to give Paula's Choice a chance due to the glowing review of Wayne Goss. That was March of this year and I have not strayed from these items one bit!

Another incentive to buy: Paula's Choice products are 15% off until October 7, 2014 at 11:59PM ET!! Free shipping when you spend $50+.

PRODUCT SMACKDOWN | BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick vs Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Color vs Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick

I haven't done a Product Smackdown in a long while so this is much overdue. Finding dupes of high end products in a more affordable brand makes me excited and my wallet happier. I've never really been a pink lipstick kind of girl so I was mightily surprised when I found three lipsticks in similar colors in my collection.

REVIEW | Palladio's Rice Paper Blotting Sheets and Oil Absorbing Rice Powder ♥

So as many of you know, I have a combination skin type with an oily T-zone but normal cheeks. I prefer using blotting papers for touch ups instead of powder. This will help prevent the infamous cake face since I need to get rid of the shine a couple times a day. I usually blot my face 2 or 3 times a day, depending on how hot or active I am that day but with this paper, I'm good with just one blot! Lately, I've been using Palladio's Rice Paper Oil-Absorbing Blotting Tissues with Rice Powder. This is truly amazing!
