I first spotted it on Ulta's website and being the ever-curious makeup junkie I am, decided to order it right away. I've had it for about two weeks now and have been using it constantly! I'm not a bronzer type of person and have largely ignored that bit in my everyday makeup routine and reserved bronzing/contouring for tutorials. Contrary to popular belief about beauty bloggers, I don't wear a ton of makeup every day, though I'm making more of an effort to use more of my makeup products instead of buying so much, so it's surprising for a makeup product to worm its way into my everyday makeup routine like that.
--At a Glance--
As I mentioned before, this palette includes three of Too Faced's bronzer offerings: Chocolate Soleil (matte), Sun Bunny (natural), and Snow Bunny (luminous) as well as a cute little Teddy Bear Hair Flatbuki Brush. I really wanted this set for Chocolate Soleil because everyone and their mother raves about it but also because I was curious about the chocolate scent--let me tell you, it really does smell like cocoa powder! The smell reminds me of the Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa xD.
Apparently, Chocolate Soleil has some magical properties that neutralize redness and evens skin tone. That's pretty cool because I struggle with post-acne hyperpigmentation marks that are reddish-brown on my cheeks--exactly where you would apply bronzer. It is also matte, perfect for contouring. Sun Bunny's pink undertone helps mimic a natural tan. Wayne Goss (a really cool makeup artist) applies a red blush in the places where the sun would hit you (POW!) so that must be some kind of makeup theory tip thingy...Anyhoo, that's a nice touch, I guess. This has two different sections: the top is lighter and matte where as the bottom is darker, pinker, and satin. Swirled together, I get a nice, skin-like bronze. Lastly, Snow Bunny is pretty interesting since it has 4 different strips of color: white, bronze, pink, and fawn. I'm not sure if it's an overspray but there's a layer of gold shimmer over the entire bronzer, which must be where the luminous part comes in.

--The Breakdown--
Chocolate Soleil and Sun Bunny contain 4g/0.14 oz each for a total of 8g/0.28oz while Snow Bunny contains 3g/0.11oz.
Value-wise, this palette is a good deal. The Bronzing Wardrobe retails for $44 USD (on Ulta's website, where I got mine). The full size for Chocolate Soleil and Sun Bunny is 0.35 oz for $30 USD each ($85.71 USD for 1 oz). Assuming that each item is $11 USD, Chocolate Soleil and Sun Bunny come out to be $22 USD for 0.28 oz ($78.57 USD for 1 oz). Snow Bunny is $30 USD for 0.28oz ($107.14 USD for 1 oz). The "price" for the one in the Bronzing Wardrobe would hypothetically be $11 USD for 0.11 oz ($100 USD for 1 oz). While not a complete steal, it would've been more expensive to buy each bronzer individually (by my calculations) and you wouldn't get the super adorable brush and convenient packaging!
--The Good--
Moving onto the products themselves, I really like every bronzer included in this palette. Another miracle is that the brush included in here actually works--even better than some of my bronzer brushes!
I knew I was going to like Chocolate Soleil because 1. It smells like chocolate and 2. It's matte. It's really hard to find a good matte bronzer and I've been using Tarte's Park Avenue Princess for a really long time but I wasn't completely happy with it. I like a more neutral, bordering on ashy bronzer because I like to contour rather than warm up my complexion as I already have a warm undertone. Chocolate Soleil is really my favoritest--maybe even Holy Grail status--bronzer because it works as a contouring powder perfectly! It doesn't pull too warm/orange/red/pink at all on my skin so it's a believable contour. I think the one included in this palette is the Milk Chocolate one since it's pretty light.

Sun Bunny is quite warm (pink) on my skin, creating that believable tan look. Since it has a slightly satin finish, it really does mimic the glow that skin normally has really well. I love using it on my cheekbones, center of my chin and forehead, and across my nose bridge (places the sun naturally hits) for a bronzed and healthy look.
Sun Bunny Natural Bronzer |
I didn't think was going to like Snow Bunny at all since the golden shimmer all over the bronzer really gave me a heart attack (I mean, I was super hesitant about using Sun Bunny at first because of its shimmery half but I forced myself to make it work) but I just put on my big kid panties and swirled the Flatbuki Brush in it and applied on my face. I looked at myself in the mirror and my eyes bugged out because I had gone a little overboard. After furiously blending it out, I got a really nice luminous glow (though a bit too glowy in my opinion) to my cheeks. This is a little quirk of mine but I really hate messy makeup products. I get really wigged out by eyeshadow fallout all over my palettes or foundation residue on my sponges or brushes so when I swirled all the colors together, I got a mini-panic attack since the colors got muddied together. However, I was able to remedy that by wiping off the top layer to reveal a cleaner bronzer underneath. Things were not looking up for this bronzer at all but the next morning, I went a bit lighter with the swirling (more like swiping across the top two and then the bottom two) and got a more subdued but lovely, lit-from-within glow! I'm not sure how to describe it but you know the glow that you see on models in magazines and such?--I got that on my cheeks! I've never been a fan of shimmery cheek products or dewy skin (as my last few posts have revealed) but I'm slowly warming up to them. Snow Bunny has grown on me so much that I've been using it more than Chocolate Soleil in this past week! The pink and fawn shades are pigmented enough to show up as a blush on my cheeks but if I swipe across all four shades very, very lightly, I can add more of a sheen/highlight/overlay to any blush I have on underneath. Focusing on the white and bronze shades give me more of a bronze (duh) highlight/bronzer-in-one. Though it didn't appeal to me at first, I have come to appreciate its multi-purpose properties!

Let's take a moment to just squeal over how cute and tiny the Teddy Hair Flatbuki Brush is *high-pitched squealing ensues*. Okay now, back to business...The Teddy Hair Flatbuki Brush is not actually made from teddy bears (I think) but the synthetic fibers do a great job of picking up and blending out the bronzers. The interesting part about this brush's design is that it's similar to a kabuki in that it has a domed shaped but it's flatter than the mushroom design of most kabukis. I think this is great when you want to apply the bronzer in a more contour-y way as the flat design really helps you etch out those cheekbones! On the other hand, the buki part helps you blend things out. It isn't a super dense brush as most kabukis are which helps you diffuse the very pigmented bronzers over your face. I love love that this brush actually works because if you want to travel with this palette, having the brush included in the palette makes packing that much easier. I haven't washed the brush yet (I know, bad beauty blogger!) but I haven't had any hairs shed. I've been using it with all three bronzers, which is surprising because I hate using the same brush for both shimmery and matte products, but I haven't had a problem with Chocolate Soleil becoming shimmery or anything. I don't want to test fate so I will wash the brush this weekend to get rid of the residue.
You can see why it's called the "Flatbuki" |
--The Bad--
The only con is that I'm a little iffy on the packaging. While the designs are so bright and preppy and the tin is sturdy with a magnetic closure (which I love because I don't chip my nails trying to open it!), the magnets on my palette aren't strong enough to keep the palette closed. Thinking I closed it, I put the palette away only to realize that it somehow popped open on its own. The first time it happened, I thought I had forgotten to close it but I have actually observed the palette opening on its own without any intervention from me (unless there's otherworldly beings playing pranks on me). This makes it hard for me to travel with this because I wouldn't want the case to open in my luggage and possibly get damaged. I could just tape it shut before I pack it, but it would be cumbersome to do every time I want to close the case. The extra work shouldn't even have to be done since a palette should just stay closed! It's also a bit bulky so travelling with this might be troublesome. The hinge on my palette might be broken or something because the mirror doesn't stay propped open--it kinda just flaps about. This might actually be how the palette is designed but it would be nice if the mirror side could stay open so that you could have both hands free for doing your makeup).
However, I think this palette could do it all as you already have blush (if your skin is light enough) and bronzer but you could double up Snow Bunny as eyeshadow as well (if shimmer and pink is your thing). Chocolate Soleil and the top half of Sun Bunny could also work as matte contour shades. I haven't tried that out myself yet, but I am definitely going to give that a try as I don't see any warnings about not putting this near your eye...the things I do in the name of blogging T_T.
The mirror is decently sized so you could use it to see what your face looks like (again, duh--that's what mirrors do!) as you apply makeup. I also really like the cute, pink Bonjour! on the mirror as it seems like the palette is saying that to me as I do my makeup (not that makeup could talk but that would be cool #justsaying). It doesn't take up much space so it doesn't get in the way of mirror viewing (didn't really know how to phrase that >_<).
--Bottom Line--
If you have the budget for it and/or are in the market for new bronzers to try, I'd definitely recommend it. I like how I can use every bronzer in this palette without any qualms and the included brush is useable so I don't feel like I'm wasting money or product. Though you only get about a third of product compared to the full-size, I think there's enough product to last you a while because these are very pigmented--I definitely recommend you to start light and slowly build up. But if you apply too much at once, no worries as they are very blendable (to a certain extent). If you want to get your hands on this awesome palette, Sephora.com, TooFaced.com and Ulta.com currently have it in stock. Make sure to grab yours if you are interested as these are only available for a limited time only!
MWAH Musings ♥
- So I deleted all the pictures for this post for some odd reason, but luckily, I hadn't emptied my Trash so I just put everything back xD
- Had a chicken salad today for dinner--chicken and Spring Mix+spinach salad as the base and carrots, grape tomatoes, avocado, and caramelized onions as the finishing touches. I also mixed in a bit of sate (pepper and oil mixture) for a bit of a kick and it was awesome! Finished up the entire meal with a cup of green tea with a splash of milk and brown sugar (okay, a bit more than a "splash" of sugar) but there was so mandarin flavors in the tea that didn't mix well with the milk and sweet but that's okay :D
- Got my Memebox today! It was the Banila & co. one (unfortunately, it's sold out and so is the second one). The products were mostly new to me and so far, I'm not feeling it but I'll see how it goes when I actually use it on my face and not judge from just the swatches. I'm probably going to do an unboxing post of what I got and then do some reviews for y'all!
So that's it for this post! It's super long but I had a lot to say about this (obviously). I also changed up the way I organized my thoughts so if you could leave me some feedback, that would be great :D I'm always trying to improve my writing so I appreciate all your comments ♥ Let me know if you're getting one or whether or not you like yours! I'll see you all in my next post soon :D
XOXO,
MWAH ♥
