FIRST IMPRESSIONS| TonyMoly Aqua Aura Cooling Cushion SPF50+ PA+++

Hey everyone! Today, I'm going to talk about the TonyMoly Aqua Aura Cooling Cushion SPF50+ PA+++! This was a popular product during the summer but I decided to give them a try during the winter season. I'm a bit contrary like that, but hey, better late than never!

This is a really cool product. The packaging is pretty new to me. It comes in a spray bottle similar to a spray paint bottle. Now that kind of intrigued me because I hate using my fingers to apply my base makeup. Shake the bottle first. When you press the button on the side, it dispenses product onto the beige puff. Then you just dab your face with the puff attached onto the dispenser. There's 8 functions it's supposed to fulfill: Moisture Mist, UV Protection, Foundation, Cooling, Primer, Whitening, Wrinkle Care, and Moisture Glow.

Likes:

It brightened my skin, which is a good look for the winter. It was very light and I didn't feel like anything was on my skin. This Cooling Cushion really does have a cooling sensation once applied, which would've been nice for the summer months. It also comes with an extra puff once the other one gets too gunky and gross.

Dislikes:

It really clings to my dry patches. My skin is really dry around the forehead and nose during the colder months and this did nothing to help hydrate those areas. I'm a bit more normal on my chin and cheeks and the Aqua Aura Cooling Cushion didn't look bad there. In a couple of hours though, my skin got really oily on my chin and cheeks but my nose and forehead looked okay. Coverage was pretty sheer, barely correcting my redness and did not cover anything else I had, like dark circles or hyperpigmentation acne scars. The color was off for me. I got it in number 02 Cooling Beige but it was still too light for me. I used bronzer around the perimeters and that helped it look a bit more natural on me. This is definitely a summer product for me but I'd be darker then so I'm not sure how well that would work. The smell that comes from the product is reminiscent of the spray paint cans so that's a little worrying.

As to the claims it makes, I'm not sure what moisture mist is supposed to mean but it's not moisturizing on my dry skin areas. It contains SPF 50, which is great for UVB ray protection and PA+++, which protects UVA rays, so UV protection is there. Foundation is a joke because coverage isn't there at all. I tried layering it but I couldn't build up much coverage. It does have a cooling feeling when applied. I haven't tried it as a primer because it looked so bad on my skin but I'll try exfoliating and moisturizing better next time to see if I can layer other base makeup on top. I haven't used it enough (truth be told, I've only tried it once and yeah...) so I can't say if I noticed any whitening or wrinkle care. I'm not sure what moisture glow is but uhh...while my skin looked dry close up, from far away, I noticed a glow (might be from the fact that it's a couple shades too light for me...) It comes in only 2 shades, which is disappointing for those with medium or darker skin tones but that's a lot more than other brands.

Bottom Line:

I'd pass over this product. i'm a bit disappointed because this is my first TonyMoly product that I've tried. It was also a bit expensive at $16 plus shipping. I understand CC Cream isn't supposed to cover but I guess I was just looking for more. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, shade 01 Cool Skin is here^ and shade 02 Cool Beige is here^.

MWAH Musings ♥

  • Did not catch up during the weekend like I had planned. Since I'm on break, I've been so lazy to do anything...like sorting my clothes to donate or cleaning my room.
  • I went to Shakey's today and the pizza is decent. I really liked the Mojo Potatoes though. A bit too salty but nothing that water can't fix.
  • Can't believe it'll be 2014 in a few days! This year has gone by so fast!
So that's it for this post! I'll hopefully be back on track soon! Hope this post was helpful and have a great new year!
XOXO,
