Excuse the number 2....got confused as to which was which >.< |
There's still product but I would need a lip brush to get the last bit out, which I don't think is worth it since these are soooooo old! |
The Neutrogena Moisture Shine Lip Sheers were some of the first lip products I ever used. I remember they were buy one get 1 free, which was great for a high school student back then. I got them in shade 20 Shimmering Blush and shade 15 Peach Sorbet. My personal favorite is Peach Sorbet. It's a pretty cherry red shade with no shimmer. Shimmering Blush is a MLBB color with gold shimmers in it. These are sheer but buildable lip colors and they are very moisturizing. The thing that made me stop using them in the first place was that they made my lips sting--and not in a good way. I don't know if it was the SPF 20 in it (which I thought was a good thing at the time) but it was just so uncomfortable that I shelved them away. I picked them up again last year and used them all up. They didn't sting any more, which I was glad about. They are discontinued now so I feel like it wasn't such a great product anyway.
Bottom Line: If they weren't discontinued, I still wouldn't repurchase.
The Skinfood Watery Berry Eye Cream* has a nice texture. It wasn't thick but it was enough to keep my undereyes moisturized during the summer. It has a perfumey smell which might not be so good near the eyes. It has an anti-wrinkle effect though I wasn't able to effectively test that claim. You can find it on Amazon, eBay, or Koredeapart.
Bottom Line: Overall, it was a nice eye cream but I don't think I'll be purchasing the full size since I didn't see any noticeable effects.
Skinfood's Lime Secret Shine Light Base SPF 13 PA+* claims to be "the secret of the flawless, radiant beauty". It comes in three shades and I got shade 01 Green. I mainly used it for oil control and I can't remember if it did a good job or not, but most likely it didn't or else I'd have a better recollection. It does smell like limes and is a thin, watery white liquid. The SPF is a nice addition because most people don't apply enough of it. You can find it on eBay and TesterKorea.
Bottom Line: Since it's been a while, I don't remember if it was a good product or not. I don't think I'll be purchasing the full size.
Up next is The Face Shop FACEit Smart Capsule Color Control Cream SPF 40, PA++*. This claims to brighten your complexion and keep your morning makeup intact without any darkening. It comes out white but after rubbing it in, it changes to match your skin color. With a lot of Korean face products, it's hard to find a match unless you're really fair. However, this is one of the few that don't make my face look ghostly pale, which is greatly appreciated. It has sheer to light coverage, covering redness and filling in pores. It did not cover my dark circles or my hyperpigmentation scars, but it did make it look less noticeable. My skin looked a lot healthier and brighter without having my face and neck be two different colors. It is very lightweight, which is perfect for those days when you don't need much coverage. I don't remember if it helped with oil control or not but I liked it for the other things it did for my skin. You can buy it from Koreadepart (which I've bought from before) or on eBay. Amazon and Yesstyle were selling this for $45+ so I'd go with the other two sellers for a better deal. You can also find out more from The Face Shop.
Bottom Line: I would buy the full size of this!
Here's the Korean info for those who find it useful! |
My skin was going crazy last year, becoming irritated and dry and flakey no matter what product I used on it. For some gentle cleansing, I picked up the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. It has a very short ingredients list:Water, cetyl alcohol, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfate, stearyl alcohol, methylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben. They say it can remove makeup but I'd rather go in with a cleansing oil to make sure all of it is gone. This doesn't make my face feel tight or dry after cleansing--rather, it makes my face feel moisturized! I really like this cleanser and the pump makes me like it even more!
Bottom Line: I would repurchase!
I have really dry skin in the fall and winter and decided to try a body butter to compensate. The Boots Extracts Shea butter Body Butter claims to moisturize and hydrate, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth. It has a really nice scent but it's a bit strong as anyone within a ten feet radius will be smelling this and only this >.< I felt like it just sat on my skin without doing much in terms of moisturizing. It was easy to rub it into my skin but I felt my skin got dry and itchy again in a couple of hours.
Bottom Line: I wouldn't repurchase.
I've also used up the Skincare LdeL Cosmetics Retinol Night Cream! I picked it up because retinol works by causing rapid cell turnover, revealing new and radiant skin underneath. That interested me because I have a lot of hyperpigmentation scars around my nose and chin from hormonal acne. I've had it for almost a year so it lasts quite a while. :) It is on the thicker side so a little goes a long way. I liked it because it really moisturized my skin and I would wake up with really nice and hydrated looking skin, albeit shiny and slightly sticky. It did have a weird scent but my either my nose got used to it or it disappeared after a while. I also didn't notice any fading of my hyperpigmentation scars, but that might be too much to ask of this cream. It did have really bulky packaging so it isn't the most travel-friendly item, but it sure is sturdy! If you are interested in finding out more, I have a full review on it here.
Bottom Line: I would repurchase if it was on sale--which is usually the case when purchased on Ulta.
To complement the first, I've finished off the last bits of the Skincare LdeL Cosmetics Retinol Day Cream as well! I loved how thick it was and how quickly it got my skin back into shape. With winter in full swing, my skin has been so dry and flakey so any base makeup I apply on top looks horrible. I miss having this but I've read from multiple sources that retinol/retinyl palmitate isn't good for use in the daytime as it reacts badly with sunlight exposure, making skin more vulnerable to UV damage. I'm not sure if it's true, but I think it's best to be safe than sorry. If you want to see that info, check EWG out. If you want to see my full review, click here.
Bottom Line: Though I love the formula, I don't think I'd repurchase because of the risks of using vitamin A in day products.
I've had the Covergirl Wet Slicks Fruit Spritzers lip gloss for years! When I was in high school, I was looking for the perfect red lip gloss but this turned out to be too sheer for my tastes. Putting it in the makeup graveyard, I never used it again. I recently pulled it out and use it as a night lip balm and it did keep my lips soft and moisturized throughout the night. It is on the heavier side, which helps it last. I know it's gross since I've had it for so long but in my defense, the expiration date was 3 years--which makes me nervous about how much preservatives must be in it for it to last that long. BUT, the important thing is, I've used it all up and it can now retire in makeup heaven (the garbage). The Covergirl Wet Slicks have been repackaged from the original and they don't make the particular color I have anymore. I don't remember what the name is for this one, but Strawberry Splash 540 looks similar. Bottom Line: Would not repurchase.
This is kind of random but I have finished off the Secret Antiperspirant/Deodorant Invisible Solid in Shower Fresh. I'm a huge fan of deodorants because I sweat easily--five minutes of brisk walking and I'll start feeling a bit warm. I felt like this didn't really do much in terms of keeping me completely dry under there but it sure did make me smell better. The scent is light and refreshing but it gets stronger as I perspire more. I haven't gotten people commenting on how strong the scent is like the Secret Scent Expressions Antiperspirant Deodorant Invisible Solid in Lavender. That one's scent is so strong once I started sweating--I had no need for perfume or anything! It was just too strong of a scent for me. Anyhoo, the Shower Fresh is supposedly pH balanced, but I'm not too sure what that means. It is definitely not an invisible solid as I can see the white residue on my T-Shirts and it also stains them yellow, which is kind of unsightly.
Bottom Line: I will not repurchase this particular scent but I have purchased the Secret Outlast Completely Clear 48-hour Protection in Clear Gel. Hoping that'll work better for me!
