FIRST IMPRESSIONS | bareMinerals Purifying Facial Cleanser and Purely Nourishing Moisturizer

Hey everyone! Today, I have some new skincare products to talk to y'all about. I've been on the lookout for some new skincare products because the ones I have now seem to be ineffective at preventing me from getting clogged pores and other face woes. I received samples of the BareMinerals Purifying Facial Cleanser and Purely Nourishing Moisturizer before and am glad to try them out again!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS | bareMinerals Purifying Facial Cleanser and Purely Nourishing Moisturizer

the bareMinerals Purifying Facial Cleanser* is marketed as a "gentle, purifying cleanser powered by 100% pure RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex". Apparently, this RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex is composed of minerals that renew skin, improving cell turnover and providing antioxidant protection. Using a unique electrolyte delivery system, it "optimizes your skin's ability to absorb and retain moisture, resulting in smoother, healthier looking skin". This cleanser may also be used to remove makeup, including eye makeup. It has a clear, thin liquid-y texture that lathers up a bit.

You just wet your face with warm water and then massage the cleanser all over face and eyelids using gentle circular motions to create a creamy lather. Once you feel satisfied, rinse it all off with warm water, patting your face gently with a towel to dry.

I really like this cleanser, even though I've only used it once. I had on light makeup that day, just some powder, concealer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and waterproof mascara. It did a great job of removing my face makeup and eyeshadow. I had to rub a bit harder to get my mascara and eyeliner off but they are waterproof. It did come off eventually so it does work. I think I prefer using an eye makeup remover beforehand to reduce rubbing and tugging on my eyelids too much. It didn't leave a tight feeling or anything behind; my face felt really hydrated and soft. I'm not sure how well it would remove heavier base makeup as I wasn't wearing any foundation or BB cream when I tried this out. I don't think I would buy the full size for $20 for 6 oz/177mL. I feel that I have some other cleansers I like better that wowed me for much cheaper prices.

If you're interested in trying this product out, you can find it on the bareMinerals site, Sephora, and Ulta
FIRST IMPRESSIONS | bareMinerals Purifying Facial Cleanser and Purely Nourishing Moisturizer

the bareMinerals Purely Nourishing Moisturizer* is a lightweight moisturizer that improves firmness, elasticity, radiance, and skin texture. Again, it also contains the RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex. You can apply this day and night. This comes in two formulas: Combination and Normal/Dry Skin. I'm going to be reviewing the Combination one.

I also like this moisturizer. It is lightweight yet it keeps my oily areas from becoming oily throughout the day or night while providing enough hydration for my dry areas. It's a milky, creamy texture that smoothes across my skin easily. You don't need a lot for this to be effective. This is the first moisturizer I've used that doesn't make my oily areas oiler, which is a miracle. It layers under makeup perfectly. When used at night, I wake up the next morning with such wonderful looking skin that doesn't look shiny with oil or flakey and dry. My skin has been on the drier side lately but this was enough moisture for nighttime (I usually like to use creams for nighttime). I wish it had SPF so it could be an all-in-one step for me in the mornings but it isn't too much of a hassle to add it on in the mornings. Besides, that means I can use it at night as well, so I'm saving a product there. I'm on the fence about purchasing this product. While it works well, it is $28 for 1.7 oz/50mL. If I'm using it day and night, I'd go through this quite quickly. I'll see if I can find a moisturizer that works as well as this at a more affordable price.

For the Combination skin, you can find yours at bareMinerals, Ulta, and Sephora.
For the Normal/Dry Skin, you can find it at bareMinerals, Ulta, and Sephora.

MWAH Musings ♥

I'm so sorry about the lack of updates last week but I was going through a stressful finals week. I turned in a total of two in-class essays and a 6 page essay for one class, two 4 page essays for another, and a 7 page essay for yet another class--all in one week! Anyhoo, I'm glad to be back and doing my blog posts again--I seriously missed doing them but had to prioritize schoolwork--boo. I'm finally on winter break and so can do as much blogging as I want!

XOXO,
MWAH
