RE-DISCOVERY | Maybelline Master Drama Eyeliner

Eyeliners were really hard for me. It was difficult to make an even line and getting them not to smudge or smear everywhere because of my hooded eyelids. Upon discovering the Maybelline Master Drama Eyeliners changed my (makeup) life!

[Re-Discovery] Maybelline Master Drama Eyeliner REVIEW

I used to play it safe with brown or black eyeliners. Last year, I decided to experiment with my eyeliners. Here, I have Coal Commander 425 and Sapphire Strength 420.

Coal Commander is a dark gunmetal gray with a little bit of silver shimmers. THe shimmers don't show up on the eye. I love it for days when I want to define my eyes but don't want to go with black. I love pairing it with warm pink eyeshadows because I feel it toughens up my eyes (if that makes sense).

I was looking for a dark navy blue liner and picked up Sapphire Strength. Even though this wasn't the shade I was looking for, I grew to like it because it is such a bright, metallic, sapphire blue color. The color reminds me of the metallic, glittery blue crayon from Crayola. :d I mainly use it with gold, silver, or champagne eyeshadows to make a statement. This shade may not be the most wearable for an everyday basis but it is a must-have for those party looks this holiday season :)

These eyeliners are some of the best drugstore eyeliners I have ever tried. They don't smudge or smear on my oily and hooded eyelids, once set. They transfer ever so slightly but that's towards the end of the day (10 hours +). It's not that noticeable unless I'm using Sapphire Strength. Before they set, you can smudge them out to your heart's content for a smokier, softer look. I like that there's time to smudge them out if you want but it doesn't take forever for them to set, reducing the possibility of unwanted smudging and smearing. These set completely in 1 minute or less. I was rubbing my swatches on my wrist and these did not budge. The Master Drama liners are pretty waterproof. I wet my swatches and lightly rubbed the water over them and they didn't smudge. I had to rub really hard for the swatch to lift but I feel it would last through some heavy tears--just don't rub your eyes or something and use a tissue to lightly dab at your eyes to soak them up. These are twist-up pencils, so there's no need for a sharpener. The color on the cap matches the color of the pencil, which is a nice touch. It makes a nice clicking sound when you've put the cap on tightly, a nice reassurance that the cap is on securely because you do not want these creamy, pigmented, and long lasting pencils leaving marks everywhere in your makeup bag >.<. These eyeliners are super creamy and glide on the eye like a dream. They are nicely pigmented with one or two swipes being enough. I've had them for over a year and they aren't dried out in the least!

Maybelline Master Drama Eyeliner REVIEW AND SWATCHES

Dislikes

I have a couple of nit-picky things with these and that is that the tip gets dull after using it for a while, making it harder to achieve a thin line. I use a different twist-up eyeliner's pencil to sharpen these but it would be nice if it came with its own sharpener. Also, these are not retractable so twist up only as needed as it'll be hard to cap these with all the eyeliner sticking out.

I'm using them more now with winter rapidly approaching because I prefer a smudge eyeliner look when the weather gets colder. These are perfect if you're on a budget and they come in 6 shades! I got mine from Target but you can also find them here!

So that's it for this post! I don't know if you've noticed, but I've been trying to upload daily for the month of December. This post was supposed to go up yesterday but I had to work on a final paper for one of my classes >.< After this upcoming Friday, I'll have plenty of time to post more for y'all! ♥ Also, I've decided to include MWAH Musings in my posts to let y'all know what I'm thinking about or what's going on in my life (if you're interested). Read on to find out more :)

MWAH Musings ♡

  • I can't wait for this week to be over! Classes will be done and I'll have a week break to catch up on all my neglected readings >.<
  • It's been getting colder these past couple of days (high 40's Fahrenheit in the day and mid 30's Fahrenheit in the night). Bundle up everyone!
  • I thought I was going to get sick because I woke up with a sore throat but that seems to have gone away after drinking loads of water, thankfully.

XOXO,
MWAH ♥
