The miracle ingredient behind this product is Royal Black Honey, apparently jam-packed with many nutrients that are beneficial to the skin. The Skinfood website didn't specify what those nutrients are supposed to be but I know that honey is a great antiseptic and antibacterial due to its lower pH level. However, we need to take the information with a grain of salt because not all honey is created the same. The specific properties of each honey differs depending on which flower's nectar was used and water content. Most of the beneficial properties of honey is attributed to manuka honey. I've never heard of Royal Black Honey but that can be attributed to my own ignorance. I couldn't really find any information on the benefits of Royal Black Honey from any reliable sources either. If you want to find out more about the possible healing properties and potential uses of honey, check this article out from Medical News Today. So now onto the actual review of this product!

It really did moisturize my skin. Instead of the thick cream texture I've come to expect from a product labelled as a cream, it was pretty lightweight. I wouldn't call it watery but it definitely was not thick like a typical cream. I have combo skin, but lately, my skin has been going through a dry spot. I feel that traditional creams make my skin oily so this one was pretty nice. It kept my skin hydrated without feeling heavy. I woke up the next day with a shine-free face but there were no dry patches--a miracle! There's not SPF in this product so you can use this day or night. Just remember to use a separate product with SPF if you're going to use this in the mornings!
Dislikes:
For something called "Royal Black Honey Hydro Cream", it didn't really have a honey scent. Then again, I've never really smelled Royal Black Honey before so it might have a different scent from the typical honey products I've encountered. There is a spicy-ish scent though. The name "Royal Black Honey" threw me off at first because I thought the cream would be black but in reality, it's a milky white. That's not really a problem but I'm guessing there isn't that much honey in it since the original honey is quite dark, darker than the typical honey (never seen it in real life so don't really know if it's actually black). My fingers were a bit sticky after application (I usually don't wash my hands after applying all my nighttime skincare products--due to laziness or when I dispensed too much product and rub it into my hands instead of wasting the product)) and so was my face but it wasn't unbearable.
Bottom Line:
I found the full ingredients list on heartairou's blog post about this same product and I could really see very many beneficial ingredients in this product that stands out from the rest. Don't buy into the hype about the Royal Black Honey stuff and see it was a regular cream. I think this is great for those on a budget but I don't think it does anything more than hydrate. I found it on eBay, Amazon, Sasa, and Koredepart.

So that's it for this post! Let me know down below if you have tried this cream before or if you have one that you'd like to recommend me :) I'm still using up my YesToCarrots night cream but find that it's way too thick for my skin type. Going to try out some other cream samples but after that, I guess it's back to the YesToCarrots -.-
