I'm not that familiar with Murad products but I have tried a couple of their things, like the Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15. Murad is a famous skincare company known for their blemish-fighting products. I first heard about them from grav3yardgirl and so was excited to try this out. According to Sephora, the Clarifying Wipes:
"are conveniently packaged, ultrasoft wipes that are clinically proven to help keep skin clear by removing dirt, bacteria, and pore-clogging oil. These wipes make it easy to refresh oily skin when cleansing isn’t possible. They also help reduce shine and keep skin clear as part of Dr. Murad’s Inclusive Health® system of care."

It's pretty big (packaging says 6 in by 7.75 in (15.2 cm by 19.7 cm) but I was able to measure 7 in by 8.5 in. My skin felt refreshed afterward and this wipe didn't dry out my skin. It isn't tested on animals which is great bonus in my book. The wipes are nicely saturated with product; it isn't too dry or too wet for my tastes. I tried squeezing out extra product and nothing came out but it isn't dry or anything.Dislikes:
Don't get confused because these wipes are not for taking off makeup. Don't not use them near the eyes because I can smell a strong alcohol and menthol scent from these wipes. (I checked the ingredients list and this product does indeed contain alcohol denat and menthol) It did cause my skin to tingle, which I don't really enjoy. As a skincare rule, I avoid alcohol, menthol, synthetic dyes/colorants, and silicones as much as possible because of the damage they most likely present to the skin. The ingredients list from Sephora is as follows (I bolded the potentially troublesome ingredients for added emphasis):Water, Witch Hazel Water, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat., PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Carrageenan Extract, Cucumber Fruit Extract, Lemon Fruit Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Lecithin, Tocopherol, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Allantoin, Palmitoyl Hydroxypropyltrimonium Amylopectin/Glycerin Crosspolymer, Grape Seed Extract, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Menthol, Menthoxypropanediol, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Citral, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Oil, Blue 1 (CI 42090), Ext. Violet 2 (CI 60730).
I don't know if this really cleansed my skin or not. Truth be told, I haven't put anything on my face for the past couple of days as an experiment so there isn't any product or extra oil on my face. I'm not too fond of using wipes to clean my face as I feel they tug too much on the skin and don't get it as clean as I would like. If I was in a pinch, like I was today, having cleansing wipes is handy but for everyday usage, I wouldn't recommend it. It's a bit expensive at $18 for 30 wipes as well.
Bottom Line:
I wouldn't purchase the Murad Clarifying Wipes for myself. With the price tag, I expected better ingredients. I try to avoid using makeup wipes so for that alone, I wouldn't repurchase. I'm sure it works for many people but for me, I think I'll give this one a pass.Let me know your thoughts on the whole "makeup wipe vs. cleansing oil/balm" issue!
