REVIEW| Yes to Grapefruit Dark Circle Correcting Eye Cream

I've been trying to be more proactive about maintaining my skin. Though I'm still in my late teens, it's never to early to start taking care of those youthful looks! Today's post is about the Yes to Grapefruit Dark Circle Correcting Eye Cream!

REVIEW| Yes to Grapefruit Dark Circle Correcting Eye Cream

This is the fifth eye cream product that I've tried and the first from the drugstore. It claims to reduce the appearance of dark circles, fine lines, and wrinkles within 4 weeks. This eye cream is formulated without petroleum, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), and parabens. It is 99% natural and is cruelty-free. You apply a pearl-sized amount twice daily to your orbital bone/ eye area.

The ingredients are as follows: Water, Glycerin, Ethyl Palmate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Cetyl Alcohol, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Phenethyl Alcohol, Beeswax, Emblica Officianalis Fruit Extract, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Caprylate, Behenyl Alcohol, Limonene, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Fragrance, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Lecithin, Citris Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Fruit Extract, Sodium Ascorbate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil.

The star ingredients are Indian Gooseberry, which is rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C, Grapefruit Extract to fade age spots and increase skin luminosity, Licorice Extract to reduce skin puffiness and redness, as well as Crambe Abyssinica Oil, a non-greasy oil that replaces essential skin lipids and improves skin tone and texture.

&#2661: My Loves:

It is lightweight and sinks in quickly. It keeps my eye area moisturized. The eye cream helps my concealer look fresh and smooth all day. A little goes a long way! If I apply too much, it can cause my concealer to cake up. If I do apply too much, I wait a little bit longer for it to sink in. It doesn't feel greasy or heavy on my eyes, even when I apply a little extra at nighttime for extra pampering.

&#2661: My Likes:

It comes in a squeeze tube packaging, which is sanitary as I do not have to dip my finger in a pot or have the product exposed to the air/bacteria/funk. It is harder to dispense product when you use up about half the product, but if I happen to squeeze out extra, I just apply it to my nose area which gets dry in the fall/winter seasons. You get 0.5 ounces (15 ml), which is standard for eye cream. It doesn't contain any synthetic dyes and is white in color.

&#2661: My Dislikes:

It has a citrus scent to it. Normally, I don't mind fragrance in my products but this eye cream is applied very close to my eye so it makes me nervous. It doesn't irritate my eyes like the Murad one* but it does make my eyes feel a little dried out. My eyes go back to normal in a bit though. I just make sure I don't apply it too close to my lower lash line or on my eyelid.  I have been using it for about 3 months now, twice daily like stated, but I don't really notice much of a difference. My dark circles are still there. I don't have the darkest circles ever so maybe that's why I didn't see a difference. I don't have many fine lines and no wrinkles so I can't really speak for those. I didn't form any while using this product though so it may be more of a prevention thing in my case. Concealer application does look a lot better though because it used to be cakey looking, even when I didn't apply much product.

&#2661: Bottom Line:

I'm still on the fence about this product. While it didn't deliver on some of its claims for me, it worked for some people. As always, these are just my results with this product. I'm interested in trying out the Ole Henriksen CC eye creme because it has SPF 15 in it, which is important for the protection of the delicate eye area. It is on sale at Ulta but you can also find it on YesToCarrots.

So that's it for this post! Hopefully I helped you decide if you need to include it in your skincare routine or hold out for a better one, despite my conflicted stance.⁀⊙﹏☉⁀ For this week, I'll be doing daily posts again in celebration of the Thanksgiving weekend :) I have an interesting series that I'm excited to start in December! Until tomorrow <3 p="">

XOXO,
