Etude House AC Clinic Intense Trial Kit Review

I heard Sunnydahye from Youtube rave about the Etude House AC Clinic Pink Spot so I had to give it a try! Since I didn't want to commit to a full-sized product, I thought the AC Clinic Intense Trial Kit was perfect to test out the Pink Spot as well as other products. This kit comes with a AC Clinic Daily Acne Foam Cleanser, AC Clinic Daily Toner, AC Clinic Daily Gel Lotion, AC Clinic Pink Powder Water, and AC Clinic Pink Powder Spot. The entire line contains salicylic acid, Hinoki Cypress extract, Chaga Mushroom extract, and Saururus Chinensis extract to clarify and soothe troubled skin. I have updated this post since I have used up the cleanser, toner, and pink powder spot so read on to find out my final thoughts!

I have used this Acne Foam Cleanser twice or so now. It does a great job of making my skin feel clean without feeling tight. It comes out pretty thick like a cream cleanser. I use about a pea sized amount, lather it up with my wet fingers, and apply the cleanser to my wet face in upward circular motions. It contains salicylic acid and is non-comedogenic. This is the first step in the skincare line.

UPDATE: You've probably seen this in my June empties, but the tl;dr version is that it's good but nothing that I would go out of my way to repurchase.

etude house daily toner

The Daily Toner is okay. It doesn't make my face feel dry or tight. It has a scent that is medicinal, similar to the Eclos Anti-Aging Instant Radiance Facial Scrub. It is non-comedogenic which is suitable for acne-prone skin. This is the second step in the skincare regimen. UPDATE: My feelings haven't changed on this toner. It doesn't dry out my skin nor does it irritate my skin. However, it doesn't do anything miraculous either--if I wanted my face to be wet so that the products absorb better, I'll just used regular water.

etude house gel lotion

Dislike:

The Gel Lotion is so difficult to dispense! The bottle is made of a really hard plastic that is impossible to squeeze. I try hitting the bottle with my hand but not much comes out and tilting it doesn't help either. I stick a q-tip in there to scrap product out but it's so much work. I find that it has a very, very light texture that does okay at keeping my skin moisturized. I do prefer something slightly thicker because my face becomes shiny after two to three hours of applying this product. I've only applied it  once or twice because it's so hard to get the product to come out. This is the third step in the skincare line.

etude house pink powder spot

Love:

The Pink Powder Spot has got to be the star of this kit! I've tried numerous salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide treatments from Clean & Clear and Clinique to herbal salve from Prid's and none of them seemed to work very well for my hormonal breakouts. If they were on the fresh, red-looking bump side, it would work a little better but would still take a week or longer of constant application to get the swelling to go down and clear it up. However, within one night of using this product, the persistent blemish on my nose was dried up, the one on my chin finally came to a head, and the fresh blemish on the side of my temple was immediately reduced in size to a mere dot. I was so amazed because nothing I had ever tried before worked that fast! Within two days, the blemish on my temple has disappeared, the one on my chin is dried up, and the one on my nose popped off (I think I might've rubbed off the dried top with my blanket because I toss and turn a lot in bed and get tangled up in my sheets >.<). I'm on my third day and I apply again tonight and see how everything goes. Needless to say, I am completely in love with this product and have a full sized version on its way because I don't think I can live without it!

When using this product, do not shake the bottle! If the contents are mixed up, wait a few seconds for the pink powder to settle at the bottom of the bottle before you stick your cotton bud inside. Make you you get both the liquid and the pink powder on your cotton bud before applying to your trouble spot. I use up multiple cotton buds because I don't want to double-dip and cause a contamination of the product so I highly recommend buying a lot of cotton buds. This kit comes equipped with 10 free ones, which is a nice touch. This is the last step of the skincare regimen. You can add the AC Clinic Intense Hinoki Water Mist after all of this if necessary.

UPDATE: Really did like it all the way up until the end. Dried out my spots without drying out the surrounding skin. Only thing is that when I got to the end of the bottle, the liquid part ran out so all I got was the pink stuff. When it got to that point, the product didn't seem to be as effective as it was before. I have bought a new, full size bottle that I haven't broken into yet because my skin has been relatively clear *knock on wood* as I've been using the Paula's Choice CLEAR line

The Pink Powder Water is similar to the Pink Powder Spot in that there is white powder at the bottom and liquid on top. Unlike the Pink Powder Spot, you do have to shake it up to mix the contents, resulting in a milky substance. I think this is more for oil control and water balance so you apply it directly onto the blemish before you apply the Pink Powder Spot. I've only used it once this morning and found that my blemishes did stay dry without making the skin area feel tight or look flakey. The white powder residue can look like dried-up toothpaste stains so I just wiped it off after a while. Once I did that, my blemish area started to get oily again though. This is the second to last step in the skincare regimen.

I included some pictures of the packaging because it might be helpful to those who can read Korean :D I'm sorry that I couldn't translate what it says myself >.<

Not sure if this picture is upside down--if it is, I am so sorry!

There are additional products in the line, including a balm that I'm guessing is for fading acne scars, a bubble cleanser for gentler cleansing, a sheet mask, a liquid spot for carrying with you all day and pink spot patches that come in three different sizes for attaching directly onto the blemish.

I bought my kit from worldmarket201010 on eBay. It came pretty quickly and everything was as advertised. The only complaint I have is that the bag it came in was ripped on one side but it still works so I'm fine. I think I'll be using a different bag to store these products in anyway.

So that's all for this post! I'm so excited I found this kit because I really like the products included. Until tomorrow ♡
