REVIEW| The Face Shop FACE it Aura CC Cream (SPF30/PA++) ♥

Today's post is all about the Face Shop FACE it Aura CC Cream! Everyone and their mother has tried this out and I've only seen good reviews on it so I decided to follow the bandwagon. I was a bit hesitant at first to try CC creams because I do have a few problem spots that need covering up and I felt like BB cream is just a better fit for my skin needs. However, curiosity got the better of me and the promise of more skin benefits lured me in. ≧◔◡◔≦
REVIEW| The Face Shop FACE it Aura CC Cream (SPF30/PA++)
The Face Shop FACE it Aura CC Cream is a very moisturizing formula, perfect for dry skin people and the colder weather. I find that if I apply a heavy moisturizer/cream before this, the CC Cream will pill and look really bad. I am combination skin type, so to make this product work for me, I apply a lightweight moisturizer where I need it,wait a good 5-10 minutes if I can for it to absorb, and then applying this all over with the included sponge. I feel that it doesn't set, remaining a bit tacky, which doesn't help it last very long on my face. I get a good 4 hours without powder before it starts looking really weird. With powder, and blotting sheets, I get good enough coverage throughout the day--though  my skin doesn't look as fresh and glowing as it did when I first applied it. I remedy that with some highlighter to add the glow back (my favorite at the moment is Benefit's High Beam). This does nothing for oil control, so I highly recommend powder and blotting sheets throughout the day if you don't want to end up looking like an oil spill. >_<

REVIEW| The Face Shop FACE it Aura CC Cream (SPF30/PA++)

It does a good job of evening out my skin tone, covering the redness and making my hyperpigmentation scars look less visible. This is not designed to be a full coverage base makeup, but I'll layer over certain spots if I want to cover up just a bit more. I don't recommend this very much unless you're pinched for time because it'll cake up and look unnatural. The CC cream gives me a brighter complexion without making me look ghostly and there is not shimmers of glitters in it. I have it in shade #02 and it is a decent match for my medium skin tone (NC 30) if I go a bit sheerer. If I build it up, it is more obvious that it isn't a perfect match for my skin, running lighter. I remedy that with a bit of bronzer around the perimeter of my face and some contouring. With some blush on top, it isn't noticeable at all unless someone is really close and scrutinizing your face. It comes in two shade, and #02 Natural Beige is the "darkest".

It is very lightweight--I don't even feel it on sometimes--and is perfect for everyday. I feel that it has a really natural look, even in harsh sunlight, making it perfect for every day if you don't have a lot of problem spots, like pimples or white heads. Since I have pretty clear skin with enlarged pores on my t-zone and some hyperpigmentation scars, I can't say how coverage is for acne or over large spots. I don't carry this around for touch ups because it is very bulky (3 in/7.62 cm wide and 1.5 in/3.81cm tall). However, the packaging is eco-friendly because you can pop out the bottom and buy refills. You get 20g of product (0.7 oz), which makes it a bit expensive compared to drugstore foundations.

Application is easy as well. It comes with a sponge that is really great at spreading out the formula and blending--I don't need any extra brushes for this CC cream. You push on this clear lever to dispense the product--two or three pumps is good for my entire face. I am worried about product build up in the sponge and how hygienic the sponge is but hopefully, I can wash it or something.

Here's some more information on the CC cream (in Korean though, but there is some English!) if you're interested in learning more about it :)

REVIEW| The Face Shop FACE it Aura CC Cream (SPF30/PA++)

Overall, I'm very pleased with the FACE it Aura CC Cream. There are a few issues that keep it from being the perfect base makeup but it performs well enough for my needs. If you would like to try it out, you can find it here on Amazon^, as I did. If you're curious about anything else, please don't hesitate to ask!

Update 01/22/14: Recently, my skin has been going through a dry phase. Make sure you exfoliate or put on a hydrating moisturizer before you apply this CC cream because it will cling like mad to any flake-y areas you have on your face. From far away, it'll look like your skin is nice and glowing, but up close (or in harsh lighting) you will see all the dry patches stick out!

XOXO,
MWAH ♥
