BEAUTY ROUNDUP | Year in Beauty: 2016 Edition Part 2

I decided to split this up into two parts because it was getting too wordy. Hopefully, this makes things easier to digest! In this part, I'll be talking about eight other products I've loved throughout the year 2016 but didn't have a category for them. *EDIT 7/18/18* Wow, it's now mid-2018...way to go procrastination. I literally had three products to talk about before I could post this and just left it until now...well, at least I have a good memory because those last three left a very lasting impression on me. >.<

EMPTIES | December 2016 & January 2017

December and January 2016 Empties and review

I've been holding onto my empties for over a year now so to justify my hoarding, I've decided to write about them. As I write this, it's Valentine's Day and what better way to end the night with some blogging about what I loved and what I didn't?

BLOGMAS | Day 12: My Winter Skincare Routine for Combination Dehydrated Skin

I haven't written a dedicated skincare routine post in two years and while the steps haven't changed, the products sure have! My current routine is much more involved and focuses on hydration rather than maintenance. I still use my Paula's Choice products for acne treatment so I didn't include them here. These are all the basic steps that I think should be included in a skincare routine if you have normal to dry skin like me.

I divided this post into my morning and night routine to make things easier to digest. I don't think the actual products matter but the function they serve is important. If you already have something you love serving that purpose, then keep using it! These are some of my recommendations if you wanted something new to try.

Heeeey all! It's been awhile since I last posted but I was going through finals. I've never studied so hard before in my life, haha. Now that those are out of the way, I can finally put all my ideas down and into the blog! Starting off with my October and November empties, I wanted to share this before it adds up. I've even finished some makeup products, which is always exciting. So let's talk about which ones I'd repurchase and which ones I'm glad are gone.

EMPTIES | August 2016

august 2016 monthly empties, makeup, skincare, body care
August was a productive month for me as I finally tackled my collection. I went through every item, tossing the bad stuff and organizing the pretties that was still useable. I've been documenting my progress through my Destashing Project, so click on the link to see what makeup I'm keeping and which I'm saying goodbye to. I didn't finish every item in here but most of them have gone bad so I want to clear them out. So without further ado, let's get into the products!

HAUL | Korean Summer Haul

korean summer haul, skinfood skincare, innisfree auto pencil liner summer 2015 limited edition, innisfree ampoule intense cushion #23, innisfree water glow cushion in #23, etude house face design brightener in pinkbeam face, innisfree glow liquid shadow review and swatches
Summer is almost over here in the Northern Hemisphere but California still hasn't gotten that memo. Here in SoCal, temperatures went up to 102 °F/39 °C! After I misplaced my ultimate fave eyebrow pencil from Etude House and two failed attempts to find a suitable replacement, I went back to testerkorea and naturally, picked up just more than an eyebrow pencil. I even forgot to grab my Etude House one... T_T

FOTD | Spring Beauty

drugstore makeup look, spring makeup look, lightweight makeup, maybelline color whisper rose elixir, tarte gifted mascara, etude house drawing eyebrow, benefit high beam fakeup concealer medium, skinfood dark circle salmon concealer cream in 02 beige, tarte cheek stain in flush, rimmel provocalips in i'll call you
Spring is my second favorite season because I love rainy days. My friends think I'm crazy but I love the cozy feeling of being indoors, curled up with a huge blanket and sipping on some warm tea or chocolate, listening to the pitter pattering of raindrops on my window. Since there's a lot of rain, the humidity makes makeup feel heavier than usual and can make mascara run. I have two looks that I've been wearing a whole ton this season. I'll walk you through the products for each look below!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS | Skinfood Royal Honey Hydro Cream

Skinfood is a popular brand in Korea. I recently tried out their Royal Honey Hydro Cream, which is supposed to be a "hydrating treatment cream that replenishes moisture and transforms skin into a nice honey-glazed complexion," according to Skinfood's English website. I've tried a couple of their products before and so I was excited to try this one out!

HAUL| Korean Skincare and Makeup

Welcome back to Makeup With a Heart♡ : Day 4! Today, I have a small haul for y'all. I really love Korean skincare and makeup products because they seem to work a lot better for my skin. Don't get me wrong, I love my U.S. drugstore products as well, but the cute packaging and innovative products always make me take out my wallet mindlessly (╥﹏╥). Let's not get stuck on that and move on to the actual products!

REVIEW| Skinfood Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream

Day 3 of Makeup With a Heart ♡ ! I've been on the lookout for a good dark circle concealer for ages! Some don't cover them up well enough, others are too thick or too drying, or are too glittery. But, I think I've fallen in love with the Skinfood Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream ❤ It comes in two shades: 01 Salmon Blooming and 02 Salmon Beige (which I have). I have had this product for a week and used it everyday.
