REVIEW | ♥♡ Etude House Kissful Tint Choux ♡♥

I haven't been this excited about a lip tint in a while so I'm super excited to bring you this post today! I have been wearing the Etude House Kissful Tint Choux in 01 Red Choux a lot since I've gotten it and I love mostly everything about it! (You'll find out why in a bit)

The one I have is in a newer packaging but nonetheless, it is the same product. This lip tint promises to create a moist and natural lip color while having a long lasting tint and volume. It comes in 4 different shades: 01 Red Choux, 02 Pink Choux, 03 Strawberry Choux, and 04 Tangerine Choux.

Application

They recommend you exfoliate lips properly before applying this tint. I usually just apply a thick layer of gloss on my lips before I apply my makeup and then go about getting ready for the day (doing my hair and makeup, eating, picking my outfit, etc). When I get to the lips portion of my makeup routine, I just remove the thick layer of gloss to reveal smoother lips underneath. I don't get chapped lips in the winter (cross my fingers! ) so this step is enough exfoliation for me.

When I first squeezed some product out, I was surprised by how watery the consistency was. The product was also separated so shake it up beforehand to mix it up. I like to squeeze a little onto my finger and then apply it to my lips so I can smooth and even out the tint.

This is the first Korean lip tint I've ever tried so I didn't really have any expectations. The lip tints I'm used to trying are on the watery and/or drying side so I was pleasantly surprised that this one has a bit of a glossy texture to it. The gloss part stayed around for a good 2 hours before wearing away. Even when the gloss wore away, my lips didn't feel dry or tight. The cool thing about this tint is that it kind of evolves into a stain when the gloss wears away. It is pretty long lasting; after eating, it isn't as intense as it was but you can still see the color.

A little bit of it goes a long way! I use like a dot the size of 5 mm for my entire lips and that gives me a pretty vibrant look. I'll use even less for when I want a slight rosy, natural tint to my lips to balance the mauve undertones of my lips. This one product will probably last a long time!

The tube packaging is pretty cute as well. The pink tube with the lace and hearts is so girly and makes me happy looking at it. I haven't had problems with product spilling out or leaking. It's pretty small so I can carry it in my pocket for touch ups after eating.

I really, really like the scent of this product! It can turn people who don't like scented products off but it smells just like the Cherry Icee Slushie. I loved drinking this whenever I went to watch movies or shopping at Target with my mom so it's a very nostalgic scent for me.

If you are into the Korean gradient lip look, you can easily create that with this product as well.

Dislikes

I'm not sure if y'all saw my haul earlier this month but I mentioned that I was expecting a true red but the formula is more of a pinky magenta. On my lips, it's still a pretty pink color but it wasn't what I was expecting. I still like the color of this tint. If I'm not eating, the lip color is pretty vibrant and consistent. However, the color wears off and looks patchy after eating. I have pretty pigmented lips so it isn't as noticeable but that can be a problem for people with less pigmented lips; patchy or splotchy lips isn't fetch at all (at least, in my opinion). Other than these two problems, I'm pretty happy with my purchase!

Bottom Line

I definitely recommend trying this tint out! It is definitely nice since it cuts down the number of lip products I need to apply; it acts as a stain, gloss, and balm all in one. It's versatile as well because you can vary the intensity of the look. The gloss part isn't sticky and wears off to reveal a nice, long-lasting stain afterwards so I like how it transitions throughout the day. The only thing that keeps it from being the ultimate product is that after eating, the stain kind of lifts off and looks slightly uneven. It isn't that bad but I am a perfectionist when it comes to my makeup so that bothers me slightly. It doesn't bother me enough to stop using it when I go out to eat but I just wanted y'all to keep that in mind. I like that it's not a fussy or hard to apply product and the packaging is too cute! I love that it's very affordable, especially on beautynetkorea.com, which is where I bought it. I am definitely going to pick up 02 Pink Choux and 04 Tangerine Choux, even though from the pictures online, Tangerine Choux doesn't look orange at all--more of a coral shade, perfect for the upcoming spring.

MWAH Musings ♥

  • Was catching up on my biology lectures...have one left but am soo sleepy...
  • Finally stopped raining today! Was a bit cloudy but it's better than wet and soggy clothing...
  • Will have to go grocery shopping soon...have not much food left >.<
I am definitely more interested in trying out more Korean lip tints so if you have any that you like, please let me know in the comments! Since I'm posting this at night, I don't have any swatches like I normally post. The pictures I took with my lighting didn't show the products true to color so I'm going to wait until morning to update with swatches. Until then, check out my February Favorites! (which is also missing pictures and product swatches T____T)

*Update 03/05/14* Just uploaded pictures for this post, which you probably have noticed already since you've gotten this far. (>‿♥)
