So I've been on a skincare kick lately! As you all know, I've been breaking out like crazy, especially around my nose and chin. Changing up my skin care routine is daunting because there's so many products out there claiming to perform miracles. It's hard to find products that work so I've been researching a lot of products and looking in my samples stash to see if something will work for me. One of the samples I found was the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel*.

As the name implies, the Alpha Beta Daily Peel is a peel that promises to fight aging by reducing fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, fighting blemishes and helping with dark spots and redness. Sounds like a miracle product to me, eh?

I felt that it made my skin look better the next morning when I woke up. My skin looked more luminous. It's really convenient to use. Just rip open one side at at time, rub on your face, wait two minutes, then repeat with the second sheet. It's really dummy-proof. The individually wrapped packages ensures freshness until you use it. Each sheet was soaked with product but not dripping with it. This product is cruelty, paraben, and phthalate free as well as vegan, a nice reprieve from all the animal testing rampant in the skincare industry. The peels come in two strengths: original for all skin types and extra strength for skin types that have not responded well to other anti-aging treatments. The cloths didn't irritate my skin or feel scratchy.
Dislikes:
I think this is typical of products containing AHAs but my face stung the first time I used it. The second time around, it didn't sting, which was a relief. Since I only used it twice, I didn't see any improvements in my pores, blemishes, redness, etc. so this is a product that you need to commit to. It also comes in different packaging: 30-day jars, 30-day packettes, 60-day jars and 60-day packettes. The jars are slightly cheaper than the packette packaging. I'm not sure if the packettes are individually wrapped but that is something to look into as you wouldn't want to expose the beneficial ingredients to light and oxygen every time you open the jar/packette. With the 60-day jars, you run the risk of the product drying out before you use up the entire jar.
Bottom Line:
Obviously, I haven't used it enough to notice a difference but I don't know if I want to shell out $82+ for this product. As I mentioned before, I don't struggle with wrinkles or fine lines but I definitely struggle with enlarged pores, redness, dark spots, and blemishes. My enlarged pores might not be as noticeable to other people as it is to me but that would be the only thing I struggle with that I haven't found a cheaper solution for. Redness is minor for me as it's just around the corners of my nose, nothing concealer can't remedy. I have been treating my dark spots with the Garnier Dark Spot Corrector and have had good results thus far. I've been breaking out on my chin and nose but I've been combating it with the Etude House AC Clinic Pink Water Spot with favorable results.I guess I could consolidate my products into this one product but the individual products are cheaper than this one is in the long run. Maybe I'll give this a try in the future when I'm older and in danger of wrinkles and whatnot. If you've tried this product, let me know your thoughts below!
