Unboxing Free From Oil & Troubles Memebox

Summer means tanning, beach weather, and ice cream but it also comes with more oiliness and breakouts, at least for me. Luckily, Meme Box came out with the Free From Oil and Troubles Meme Box to help get rid of the pesky pimples so you can have a trouble free Summer!

--AT A GLANCE--

I'm sure you've heard about Memebox before. If you haven't, they are a beauty box filled with products from Korea. It's a mixture of makeup and skincare, of which Korea is well known to be very good at. I've gotten three from them so far: Banila Co Memebox and a Luckybox. This box is focused mainly on skincare to help heal breakouts and prevention, which is especially important in the hot and humid summer months.

This box contains 3 full size products and 3 sample size items for $23 USD plus shipping.

--THE BREAKDOWN--

  • Cosrx Original Pure All Cleansing Bar (full size) -- This all-natural bar helps to remove blackheads and excess sebum. Apparently, it can also be used as an anti-blemish massage scrub. To use, lather the bar with warm water. Use the creamy foam to wash your face. When you're ready to wash off, do so with warm water.  Full size product contains 120 g/ 4.23 oz for $14 USD ($3.31 USD for one oz).
  • Ciracle Red Spot Cream (full size) -- An anti-blemish spot cream that lightens the red acne spots as well as clearing active ones to even your skin tone. Use after your toner over any trouble areas. Don't apply a thicker type of moisturizer or cream on top afterwards. Just apply a BB cream or a sunscreen. Retails for $23 USD for 30 ml/1 oz.
  • Dr. Young U-Line Clearing Mist (full size) -- This spray is very fine and has a wide range so you can apply anywhere on your face to control blemishes AND body to clear the dreaded bacne. If spraying on your face, hold 30cm/10 in away and let it absorb. For body, spray after shower for best results.  It retails for $49 USD for 140ml/ 4.73 oz ($10.36 USD for 1 oz).
  • Cellabell M.C Recovery Balm SPF 28 PA++ (sample size - 5ml/0.17 oz - $5.92 USD) -- This balm offers natural yet long-lasting coverage while providing protection from  UVA and UVB rays. It also claims to have whitening and anti-wrinkle effects. The full size is 45 ml/1.52 oz for $50 USD ($32.89 USD for 1 oz).
  • 5a Control Cleansing Gel (sample size - 15 ml/ 0.51 oz - $3.12 USD) -- This cleansing gel contains oleanolic acid to balance the moisture and oil in your skin to provide the right balance. Massage your face with this gel for 30 seconds to remove the makeup, washing off with warm water. Follow up with another cleaner for a deep clean. The full size is $31 USD for 150 ml/ 5.07 oz ($6.11 USD for 1 oz).
  • Verikos Teatree Modeling Pack + Spatula (sample size - 25g/ 0.88 oz - $2.26 USD) -- This Teatree Modeling Pack is formulated with tea tree, centella, and licorice to clean, soothe, and nourish your skin to even your complexion. First, wash your face. Next, apply your face essence or ampoule. Third, mix 50 ml/10.14 tsp of powder with 40 ml/8.12 tsp of water using the supplied spatula. Use the included spatula to apply the thick mixture to your face and neck, making sure to avoid your eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. Be quick about it because it might haden before you're ready. After 15-20 minutes, the mixture should harden and become the texture of rubber--that's when you should remove it, pulling from the bottom of your neck upwards. The full size contains 230ml/7.78 oz for $20 USD ($2.57 per oz).

Unboxing Free From Oil & Troubles Memebox
Not sure if you can see the words in the sheet. I think I'll just have to separate pictures next time.

--ONE--

cosrx original pure all cleansing barI haven't used this product so I don't have an opinion on this. Not a fan of cleansing bars because they're notorious for drying out your skin but Korean skin care items are awesome so might give this a try. Most likely going to use it to clean my brushes >.< I like that it's inside a tea-bag kind of wrapping--not sure why it's in there but it's a nice touch for added security. Smells herbally and like tea tree.

--TWO--

ciracle red spot cream
Ciracle kind of sounds like "miracle" so I'm looking forward to the results. So far, I've been using it for a week so I cannot say much. It's a thick white paste that kind of mattifies my face. It takes a bit to rub in, kind of like physical sunscreens but it doesn't leave a white cast if you massage well. I don't use a lot, maybe a No.2 wooden pencil's eraser top amount for my chin and around my nose, where I have a lot of reddish post acne hyperpigmentation marks. The angry girl in a Korean hanbok is also pretty cute and makes me smile whenever I take this out to use.

--THREE--

dr young ac control u-line clearing mist
I don't have severe bacne or anything but I do get the occasionally pimple where my cleavage would be if I had big boobs (TMI,sorry!) so I haven't really used this for my chest/back. I do get a lot of pimples on my face but I haven't used it on my face. Facial mists aren't a necessity for me because my face gets oily and shiny on its own and I think this would mess up my makeup. Might give this to my brother to see how it works on him.

--FOUR--

Cellabell MC Recovery Balm SPT 28 PA++
It has the consistency of most BB creams, most similar to the Skin 79 ones.Unfortunately, it's not self-adjusting so I look really pasty and zombie looking. The smell is a mixture of baby powder and Febreeze. It doesn't cover much but it does minimize redness and blemishes. It doesn't feel heavy at all. The luminous finish isn't oily or shiny looking. The SPF is a bit low, considering that it's a Korean BB cream.

--FIVE--

5a control cleansing gel
I've only used this two or three times so I can't say much about it in terms of skin irritation or breakouts. This clear gel is good for mild cleansing, like removing the skin care residue from the night that didn't get absorbed. I've been using this product all wrong--which I've realized after writing this post. Not sure if you're supposed to rub it on your dry or wet face but I've been putting water on my face first before I go in with this cleanser. I haven't used to remove makeup but it did remove the Cellabell Balm pretty well. The smell on this is  a clean and aqua men's cologne but I can't pinpoint the exact name of said cologne right now. Probably will go smell some stuff at Sephora or Macy's to figure it out LOL. I can't just let things go unanswered or unfinished so this will probably bother me for the next few days >.>

--SIX--

This mask seems really fun. I've never really used a mask like this before. I'm a bit nervous about using this because powder and I don't really go well together--which is why I don't use loose powder. But in the name of this blog, I will try it out this weekend. Please send good luck my way--I hope I don't make a mess of the bathroom >.< They also included a little bottle of some mysterious liquid. Tried Googling what the heck it was but not much came up so it's just going to sit there until I figure out what it's for. Maybe it's for mixing the powder with? It kind of smells like the Etude House AC Clinic Daily Acne Foam Cleanser but what does "phytochemical care system", "aromatherapy system" and "herb fermentation system" do or have to do with each other?

--BOTTOM LINE--

I'm happy with this box. I don't really buy skincare items but it's a very important part of any beauty lover's regimen--makeup looks so much better on nice skin. At $97.30 USD, the value of this box is 4 times the price I paid for it. True, not all of the products are very exciting to me but it's hard to gush over a skincare item like I do when I get a new lipstick or eyeshadow palette. However, a good skincare item is essential for a clean canvas to splatter your color over. This exact box is no longer available but a Superbox #28 for $32 USD has a similar concept that begins shipping on July 16th.
