I'm just going to say it now, I THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE MORE THINGS. Now that I got that off my chest, I'm a bit disappointed with this kit. The VIB Kit had some coupons that I could use, like a free makeover, free shipping on one purchase of any amount and a percentage off my next purchase.
With VIB Rouge, you get unlimited makeovers (not that I took advantage of them before), free shipping for the year you qualified (that's nice), and a mini size of the VIB Rouge-exclusive Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in VIB Rouge (2 g/0.07 oz). It's a nice shade of brick red that makes me feel like a top ranking executive in a major corporation because the color is dark but not vampy. I don't know if this is a color I'd wear in the daytime but for nighttime or the Fall season, it would be perfect. Since I have already invested $1000 USD (yikes!) into Sephora, the least they could've done was include a full size lipstick. Instead, they give you the option to buy it online for $28 USD--what?? ᕙ(｀皿´)╯There's another limited edition hot pink shade that retails for $24 USD but really? My favorite high end lipstick is the BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick and for the same amount as the Bite Beauty ones, I get it for $18 USD. The Bite Beauty Lipsticks are supposedly all natural--so natural, in fact, that you can eat it! (but that would be a very expensive, $28 USD snack, imo). BareMinerals also claims to be all natural and while $18 USD isn't cheap for a lipstick, it's a $10 difference that I can put towards another beauty purchase (though I'm not going to be doing any of that for a long time).
There are other perks of being VIB or VIB Rouge, such as access to some limited edition kits from Laura Mercier, Becca, and Josie Maran to name a few. You'll also get access to Rouge-only events and special seasonal gifts but I haven't received or attended any so I can't speak to how awesome those perks are. I'll update this post or have a new post when I take advantage of those perks.
But I guess I expected too much for something like this. It doesn't mean I won't stop shopping at Sephora but I much prefer the perks that Ulta gives (points can be redeemed for money off the next purchase, 2X or 3X points earning during certain weeks, etc.). With this initial package, I'm a bit disappointed. But who knows, I still have 6 months or so of VIB Rouge so things can still look up for me.
