This came in an order with some of theBalm's Instain Blushes (that I love!). I usually toss samples aside in the bottom of my makeup box. However, the drier and colder than usual winter made me dig through my stash to find a moisturizer that could help cure my dehydrated and peeling skin!
The Juniper Oil-Free Moisturizer is made for normal to combination skin. It has a lightweight texture that works to keep skin hydrated all day through a mixture of humectants. Use it after cleansing your skin. The shelf-life for this product is approximately 6 months.

I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and normal cheeks so it's really hard to find a single moisturizer that can keep my normal skin hydrated without making my oily parts more oily. With the recent freaky weather, my oily parts became normal (dry and tight feeling almost) and my normal parts became so dry that they were peeling! However, this moisturizer really helped my skin restore itself. The lightweight feeling of this product made it practical for daytime or nighttime use; I could apply my makeup right over this without pilling or anything and at nighttime, I could go to bed right away without leaving residue or having an uncomfortable feeling on my skin.

This product smells like juniper and it kind of has an herbal smell. I am not particularly fond of this smell but it dissipates after a while.Bottom Line
I don't think I would purchase the full size. For the price, I expect it to do more than just keep my skin hydrated. It is lightweight and absorbs fast but many other moisturizers do that too without the high price tag. It also doesn't really do anything else for the skin which I would expect a $20 moisturizer to do. The jar packaging isn't the most sanitary either and allows for the deterioration of any beneficial ingredients through the exposure to air and light. A positive thing about this is that it is paraben-free, synthetic dye-free, phthalate-free, and cruelty-free, which is hard to find in the beauty market. For me however, this alone cannot justify the price tag. On to find the next HG moisturizer!MWAH Musings ♡
