REVIEW | Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick and Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick by Kate Moss

Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick

In the quest to be the best beauty blogger I can be, I decided to give lipstick a try. Prior to this, lipstick was definitely my enemy. Being a low-key kinda makeup girl, I hate reapplying or touching up anything, preferring my makeup to be bulletproof. Some days I ended up looking like a hot mess but it couldn't get me to change my ways.

Being the curious cat I am, I wanted to see what the fuss was about the Rimmel London lipsticks. I chose more neutral shades that wouldn't look horrible when they wear off but couldn't resist choosing a bright orange for Spring and Summer.
--AT A GLANCE--
The Lasting Finish Lipsticks come in 17 shades with a variety of pinks, nudes, plums, and reds. It claims to last up to 8 hours of comfortable wear with intense pigmentation. I have one here today in shade Airy Fairy.

Next up are the Lasting Finish Matte Lipsticks by Kate Moss. Coming in 10 shades of plums, nudes, and reds, these matte lipsticks pack intense pigment and wear up to 8 hours. I have shades 104 and 109.

--THE BREAKDOWN--
The Lasting Finish Lipsticks and Lasting Finish Matte Lipsticks by Kate Moss cost anywhere from $4.99 to $5.49 USD, depending on where you get them. They contain 0.14 oz in each tube ($35.64 USD for 1 oz).

Lasting Finish Lipstick Airy Fairy
Airy Fairy is a slightly frosty pink that comes off as a pinky nude on my medium skin tone. There's a slight gold shimmer that translates to a pretty sheen that isn't noticeable up close.

Lasting Finish lipstick Kate Moss 104
104 is a neutral fuschia rose shade. There is no shimmer of any sort in this lipstick. It looks like MLBB, perfect for my medium skin tone.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick Kate Moss 109
109 is a bright, warm matte orange. Again, there is no shimmer in this shade. I applied it a bit lightly so you can see that it is quite versatile. The swatch at the beginning is how bright it can be with just one swatch.

--THE GOOD--
Each of these lipsticks are quite pigmented with just one swipe! Application is smooth and opaque without any trouble. They even leave a faint stain behind. With dabbing motions, you still get good color payoff and more of a stain effect. They are true to color, which is helpful when you're looking for a particular shade.

I find that it does last the 8 hours--if I drink lightly or don't eat anything. It does transfer onto my cups and straws but it isn't worse for wear. After eating, the color isn't as vibrant as when first applied but it doesn't look too bad. 109 definitely needs to be reapplied after eating as it is so vibrant and is very noticeable when it wears off.

The packaging for the Kate Moss lipsticks are just gorgeous and eye-catching. The matte red with her signature is sleek and sophisticated, looking like a much more expensive lipstick.

My friends always ask me what lipstick I'm wearing when I wear 109. The intensity of the shade brightens my complexion even when I'm not wearing much makeup (favorite trick of mine to look healthier and wide awake on a time crunch).

I've actually done a mini-review of these lipsticks before here if you want to hear my first impressions of them.

--THE BAD--
Airy Fairy has a weird smell. It's kind of sickly sweet, which is off-putting to me. Luckily, it doesn't linger on the lips after application. If my lips are dry, Airy Fairy has a tendency to make that noticeable. 104 and 109 doesn't look as good on drier lips but it is passable. I recommend exfoliating when wearing Airy Fairy and at least wearing lip balm underneath 104 and 109 if your lips are dry for best results.

--BOTTOM LINE--
Definitely recommend. I like that they don't slide off my lips and though they are matte, they don't dry out my lips. Granted, they don't look good on dry lips but most mattes don't; at least these don't make it worse. The price is quite affordable considering the quality and you can find these at most drugstores, like Walgreens, Target, and Ulta. Walgreen's is having a sale on these so you can grab them for even cheaper at $4.49 USD!

XOXO,
MWAH ♥
