Hello internet! It's been a very long time since my last post (July 2018!) but to be fair, I haven't been blogging consistently for a couple years now. Life has been hectic for me, both good and bad. But I think I'll save that for another post because I've been saving all these beauty empties for months! It's definitely time to jot down my thoughts on these items and find a good way to recycle them. Here's a quick glance at all the makeup I used up from January to March of this year:

There's just so many products to talk about so I'm dividing the posts into makeup, skincare, and finally hair and body. I threw in my declutters at the end of this blog post since most of them were makeup, sadly.

Happy Monday everyone! The Monday blues are nowhere to be seen here and with the sunshine, I feel so uplifted. I've been hoarding these empties for a while now so to justify my pack-rat tendencies, let's write about them! This was a slow month for me but I did finish a few full-sized items.

RE-DISCOVERY | Rose Gold Love

It's been too long since my last post. For the past month or so, I've been busy studying for bimonthly exams and now that it's Thanksgiving weekend here in the U.S., I've had some time to catch my breath. So of course, I wanted to finish up some blog posts that have been sitting here for too long. 

I'm not a fan of wearing pink clothing but rose gold is one of my favorite shades to wear on my face! For those who aren't sure what rose gold is, it's a an alloy of copper and gold with a tiny bit of silver. There's something so soft and romantic about it. It adds just enough color without being too loud, exactly my kind of shade. So I've gathered all the rose gold makeup that I own to share with my fellow rose gold lovers. So, let's get to swatching!

FOTD | Quick & Easy Back to School Makeup

I'm writing this while waiting for my first class of the semester to start, so excuse the spelling mistakes, hehe. I'm sure many of you can empathize with me on first day jitters. I can never get a good night's sleep before an important event so I'm dealing with dark circles, watery eyes and lackluster skin. Waking up in the morning isn't a struggle for me but I can be sluggish. Doing my makeup gives my brain to wake up as well as giving me a confidence boost. Because I'm quite slow in the mornings, I decided to do a bare basics look and time myself. But I also wanted to see how long it would take me if I added a few things here and there for a complete look, which lately is turning into my fancy face, haha.

So I'll be walking y'all through my bare basics look and my fancy face to give you some ideas and tips. If you aren't going back to school, lucky you! This'll still work for work or any other occasion in which you just want the bare necessities and don't want to be faffing about with a billion brushes.

 I posted a June Empties a couple of posts back but I wanted to be on time, so here's another one! I have tons of stuff on its last legs so August will probably be busy too. Do you ever run out of things at the same time? That happens often for me, haha. So let's talk about the nine products I finished up this month!

FOTD | Current Foundation Routine

I'm a creature of habit so when I find something that works for me, I stick with it. Also, finding a great color match makes it difficult for me to use just one product for foundation. Since discovering this gem, I have finally found a cruelty-free option that I can sing the praises from the rooftops! I don't like to jump on trendy products as much as I used to, so it's taken me a long time to finally give the itCosmetics Your Skin but Better CC Cream a try. And my goodness, why was I ever so hesitant?? This is seriously HG material. But I'll save all the gushing for a later review; let's just get into my current foundation routine that I've been enjoying for the past 2 months.

HAUL | Korean Summer Haul

Summer is almost over here in the Northern Hemisphere but California still hasn't gotten that memo. Here in SoCal, temperatures went up to 102 °F/39 °C! After I misplaced my ultimate fave eyebrow pencil from Etude House and two failed attempts to find a suitable replacement, I went back to testerkorea and naturally, picked up just more than an eyebrow pencil. I even forgot to grab my Etude House one... T_T

FOTD | Makeup in a Stick (Form)

I've been loving to do FOTD posts as it lets me experiment and play with more of my makeup stash. I revisited several items that I've reviewed previously as well as introduced some new items that I will review soon! I can't claim credit for coming up with the idea. I actually watched a video by LaMuqe on Youtube where she demonstrates her look using makeup in a stick form. Watch it for another take on this fun challenge. :D

FAVORITES | Year in Beauty: 2014 Edition

It's already the fifth day of the new year so this post is a bit late I've just been really busy running errands and visiting family and friends, running from one place to another like a headless chicken on a caffeine high. In no particular order, I'm really excited to present to you the 20 products I tried and fell in love with this year and the 4 that will never get a second pass in my collection. 

1. MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation (Feb) -- The first high end foundation I ever tried, I fell in love with the light but buildable coverage. Most importantly, it was the best color match for my yellow-toned skin. The wide color selection, packaging, and performance make it a staple in my makeup kit!

2. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (May) -- The exorbitant price tag made me hesitate at first but again, the color match was spot on! I don't have to mix two colors like I used to, cutting down the guesswork, waste, and time spent getting ready by a good 2 minutes. Since I can use it on both my undereye circles and spots, it makes a perfect touch-up makeup bag companion. There's a bit of leakage at the top but that won't stop me from repurchasing this concealer!

3. Tarte Cheek Stain in Flush (Dec)-- This was a recent discovery  but it quickly made its way into my everyday rotation. I actually picked this up a while ago in the summer during Beautycon but only used it now that my skin has gotten quite dry. I've been meaning to post about this so I won't go into specifics but this is my favorite shade out of the ones I have (updated)!

4. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer (Apr) -- Bronzer was not a part of my daily routine but this bronzer changed all of that. Not only does it smell like divine cocoa, the undertone is perfect for my tastes in contouring--no red or orange. One with a grey undertone mimics shadows best but those tend to look ashy on my warm skin tone. I got mine in a kit but I'm seriously considering purchasing it in a full size so I can take it everywhere!

FOTD | ✿ Jun Ji Hyun Inspired Spring '14 Makeup ✿

I'm slowly catching up with my posts >.< I just had a midterm and now I have a paper due next Monday so it's taking me a while but I'll get there! I've never heard of Jun Ji Hyun before but after watching You Who Came From the Stars, I've completely become a big fan of hers and cannot wait to see what project she'll come up with next! Now, I do not claim to look like her but I love how her makeup was fresh looking, with the dewy skin as well as on trend, with the pop of orange on her lids, strong orange cheeks, understated orange lips and a bit of contouring. Like the title says, I'm going to show you how to get a fresh, on-trend Spring look without going overboard. ✿

FAVORITES | March 2014 ♡

This month, I didn't wear too much makeup because my skin was just not in a good place.  I was breaking out all over my chin and upper mouth/under my nose region, which wasn't pretty. Needless to say, I really focused on my skincare this past month and my skin has improved somewhat. I have a couple of products to show you, makeup-, skincare- and nail-wise, so let's jump right in!

REVIEW | Stila Perfect and Correct Foundation

I really love Stila's Perfect & Correct Foundation! It's the first base makeup I've tried that really looks like I have nothing on--even when I'm two inches away from a magnifying mirror! Its lightweight yet covers my redness, brightens my complexion, covers my pores, and reduces the appearance of hyperpigmention from post-acne marks! I can layer a bit more over my hyperpigmentation marks to cover them up completely or just use a concealer over those spots.
