EMPTIES | March 2017

March 2017 makeup and skincare empties
Happy Monday everyone! The Monday blues are nowhere to be seen here and with the sunshine, I feel so uplifted. I've been hoarding these empties for a while now so to justify my pack-rat tendencies, let's write about them! This was a slow month for me but I did finish a few full-sized items.

MAKEUP

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ulta Definition Liquid foundation in shade 3.0 review and empties, Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss in 202 review and empties, march 2017 empties
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup in shade 3.0 (CF) $40 usd for 1 oz -- Clumsy Cindy strikes again! My old bedroom was carpeted so I've never had to worry about dropping things. My current one has tile so everything shatters upon impact. This foundation never had a chance. I was almost done with it anyway so I poured what remained in the bottle into a travel sized one for future use (all gone now!) and the rest, I mopped clean. I've had this since my old apartment so I'm sort of glad it's gone and done with. The color was a bit too light for my summer skintone but the formula isn't one that works with my winter skin. My original thoughts linked above remain the same so hop on over there to have a read.
Bottom Line: If I were to repurchase, I would pick shade 4.0 to match my summer skin tone.

Make Up For Ever Artist Plexigloss in 202 Sweet Pink (not CF) $20 usd for 0.23oz/$86.96 usd for 1oz/$8.70usd for 0.1oz -- I talk about this product a bit in my De-Stashing Project and my thoughts haven't changed. Milky pink colors just don't look good on my complexion, it's super thick, and not long lasting. Surprisingly, it stuck around for a long time and I'm so glad it's gone. I actually put it into a panning project over on my Instagram and I apparently finished just one month after the project had ended.
Bottom Line: Would not repurchase. When it first came out, there were so many videos about it and these days, no one talks about it anymore. Kind of telling, in my opinion...

SKINCARE & BODYCARE

The Body Shop Fijian Water Lotus Shower Gel The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Night Treatment The Body Shop White Musk Body Cream reviews, empties march 2017, bobbi brown extra repair eye cream, etude house Ac clinic intense pink powder water, cerave hydrating cleanser
CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser (not CF) $14.99usd for 12 oz/$1.25 usd per oz -- This is a basic cleanser that didn't strip my skin. I used this during winter so it felt nice on my drier skin. It doesn't remove makeup but cleans the oil that accumulates after a day to leave your face feeling fresh. Overall, it's a nice cleanser.
Bottom Line: Would not repurchase as it's not CF.

Etude House AC Clinic Intense Pink Powder Water (not CF) -- This product seems like it has been discontinued so I'm not sure how helpful this review will be. It didn't seem to do much and I ended up pouring what remained into the Pink Powder Spot. That was a bad idea because it seems to dilute the efficacy of the the Powder Spot. I could also have had the Spot too long and it's not the Water's fault. Anyhoo, I'm glad it's gone because it's one less item in my collection!
Bottom Line: Would not repurchase.

Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Eye Cream (not CF) $77usd for 0.5 oz/ $144usd for 1 oz/ $11.52usd for 0.08 oz -- I'm not a believer in eye creams at this stage in life. This one is supposed to repair, revive, and strengthen the eye area. It helps with dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines and wrinkles. Seems like it promises the world like others and since I didn't struggle with any of these when I was using it, I'm obviously not the target audience. It felt nice and didn't cause any milia bumps on my eye, nor did it irritate my sensitive eyes.
Bottom Line: Ouch! The price tag alone would steer me away from this product. I do like her face makeup because it caters well to my yellow/olive undertone but otherwise, I'm skipping this.

The Body Shop Fijian Water Lotus Shower Gel (CF) $10usd for 8.4 oz/$1.19usd per oz -- I enjoyed the scent and felt like it didn't strip my skin. The smell lingers for a while before dissipating so it shouldn't interfere with any other fragrances you'd like to wear later. Floral and aquatic are my favorite scents so this was a match made in heaven for me. They have repackaged it and the bottle looks very simple now.
Bottom Line: I would repurchase but there's one I'm currently working on now.

The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Night Treatment (CF) $21usd for 1 oz/$10.71 usd for 0.51 oz) -- I believe this product has been discontinued and replaced with the Seaweed Oil-control Overnight Gel. I say good riddance because all this did was dry out my skin and make it feel tight to the touch. I don't know if the new formula is any good but I would be careful if you have sensitivities to extracts.
Bottom Line: Do not recommend nor would I repurchase.

The Body Shop White Musk Body Cream (CF) $22 usd for 6.6 oz/$3.33usd per oz -- I'm not a musky scent person so I don't know what compelled me to buy this in the first place. I find the Body Shop creams and butters are deceptively packaged. You have to pay attention as to whether you're buying one or the other because the butters are heavier, richer, and don't leave you sticky. The creams are lighter in texture, don't moisturize my dry skin as well, and are sticky. I used it up on my legs and the smell is quite potent.
Bottom Line: Would not repurchase but am looking into replenishing my stash with body butters.

So this month's tally is 5 deluxe samples and 3 full size items for a value of $76.70usd, excluding the price of the Etude House product, not including taxes and shipping. Overall, I'm satisfied with what's leaving and I'm not feeling like I'm missing out on anything. I'll see y'all tomorrow in this space for another post!

California is entering another heatwave tomorrow...I hate summer.

XOXO,
Cindy ♥
