"Re-Discovery" is, like the name implies, about finding things in my makeup collection that have been collecting dust for a while! It was so exciting going through it today to find the hidden gems of my collection. Getting new things is very exciting but sometimes, you already have a palette or item that performs wonderfully or even better! I forget why I put it away in the first place O﹏o I try to rotate palettes and stuff so that it all gets used, but sometimes, I get stuck on one item and forget about all the others (︺︹︺)
This blog post is dedicated to the Estee Lauder Deluxe Pure Color Eyeshadow Palette**! This was one of my first eyeshadow palettes I ever used. I was still a newbie at applying my makeup but my mom though that this palette would be good for a beginner like me.
I can see that years ago, I really loved using Tea Biscuit, Ivory Box, Cinnamon, and Berry Ice. Though I did not hit pan on any of these shades, I did make a considerable dent (which I kinda hope didn't show so the pictures will look nice lol). This was more of a special occasion palette than an everyday palette for me because I was still too young (IMO) to be wearing eyeshadow every day. I did however, like to wear Tea Biscuit all over the lid on special days at school like class presentations and parties!
The palette has a total of 10 shades in satin, shimmery and matte shades. It has very basic neutral shades with a couple of pinks, purples, and a green to add variety to the looks. You can create multiple eye looks with the palette. Some shades are more pigmented than others, as can be seen in the swatches below.

I think this palette is a great traveling companion because it is contains colors that are very versatile. It also has a big mirror that stands up on its own so you don't have to hold onto it. Though the packaging is a bit bulky, I've dropped it numerous times and put heavy things on it (accidentally, I promise!), none of the shadows broke! It also contains two little sponge applicators that are handy if you're in a pinch. The reflective gold packaging also looks very festive and fancy when you pull it out of your makeup bag :)

Below, I have some pictures of an eye look I put together using this palette and some additional items. ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿ I will update on how long it lasted on me later! Update: It's been almost six hours later, and I see minimal creasing in my inner crease, color is still vibrant. I do have oily eyelids so I don't expect any eyeshadow to stay put and look nice hours after I put it on!
Excuse my ungroomed eyebrows! ͼ(ݓ_ݓ)ͽ |
So that's it for this post! I am glad I did this because I loved this palette and finding it again really made my day! The sad thing is that I got it as part of a set that Estee Lauder did for Christmas one year so I don't know if this exact palette is still available. I checked on ebay and they were selling it for such a high price! *෴* Maybe you could bring one of the pictures to a counter and they can help you find similar shades.
