REVIEW| Maybelline Volum' Express One by One Waterproof Mascara

Hello everyone! Sorry for this late post but I've had a busy weekend volunteering for different campus organizations and hanging out with my friends, taking a much needed break from the stress of midterms--YAY! Anyhoo, I have the Maybelline Volum' Express One by One Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black for you today. ≧◔◡◔≦

This has got to be one of my favorite mascaras! There's a lot of them out there and everyone has different needs when it comes to mascara, but if you are looking for length and separation, you've got to try this! I bought this because Liah from yellowycream on Youtube liked it and I can see why. (>‿◠)

As mentioned before, I have it in the waterproof version, which is the only version of mascara I'll use since the regular versions of mascara don't work very well, so keep that in mind. I love the formula a lot! It's very black and holds a curl very well--about 6 hours or so--better than my other holy grail, Covergirl's Clump Crusher. At the 6 hour mark, I do notice slight gray rings near the outer corners of my eyes but that's typical for me since I have oily eyelids and watery eyes. It does not irritate or sting my eyes, which is  great! This mascara gives me great length and separates my lashes well, however, Clump Crusher from Covergirl does a bit better in terms of separation on my lashes. It gives very natural looking lashes with one coat and with the second, my lashes look super long! It also dries pretty quickly which is great for when I'm pressed for time. It's also pretty good for your bottom lashes as well (though I haven't used it much there since I don't like to put mascara on them often).

The brush is a bit big for my eyes. If I'm not careful, I'll get the mascara on my top lids. To combat that, I just tilt my head back so that my lashes are farther form my lids (if that makes sense). I like to twirl the brush instead of going in up and down motions because it gives me a natural look without clumping. The bristles are short and dense, which is great for my sparse and short lashes.

One thing I dislike about this mascara is that it's quite hard to remove. It has great lasting power and barely smudges on me, which are all great pros, but even with waterproof eye makeup remover, it takes a bit of rubbing to completely come off (which isn't good for the skin around your eyes!). I use the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover, which gets rid of pretty much all my eye makeup but even this one has some trouble. I also tried the it's skin Cleansing Oil and that was a disaster. (╥﹏╥)

I didn't post a picture on how it looked on my eyes because today was so overcast; I couldn't get good lighting to take a pretty picture for y'all, but rest assured, they looked great on my lashes! (I might update with a picture later on this week if the weather improves any).

In conclusion, I think this is a great mascara to try! If you have oily eyelids and are looking for natural looking lashes, this would be perfect! You can also build it up for more length if you so desire. However, I have yet to find a truly waterproof mascara that is also long-wearing. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

XOXO,
MWAH ♡
