FAVORITES | ❄Winter❄ to ❀Spring❀ Transitions

We're well in our way into Spring in the Northern Hemisphere so I wanted to show you the different products I'm using to complement the warm weather. I have some lip, cheek, face, eye, nails and some other random recommendations so let's jump right in!

tips, winter to spring beauty and makeup transitions, nail polish, lip products, eyeliners, highlighters, foundation

1. Cheeks--From the plums and wines of winter, I like to incorporate orange, coral, and pink into my routine to brighten my complexion. I'm starting to get into bronzer and one of my favorites is Tarte's Park Avenue Princess Bronzer.

2. Lips--Putting my darker lip products away, I tend to reach for my brighter oranges and pinks. For some understated lips, I like Rimmel's Airy Fairy and Maybelline's The Buffs Lipstick in Sahara.

3. Face--Spring brings rain so I don't like to wear heavy foundation; it feels too heavy and stifling. Instead, I use a full coverage concealer in places that I need it and a powder with light coverage everywhere else. If I want more coverage, I wear a light or medium coverage foundation with a slight dewiness to bring out the freshness of Spring. If you don't want to shell out for another foundation, mixing it with some of your moisturizer will lighten the coverage and you have a custom, homemade tinted moisturizer that will suit your skin!

4. Glow--I've never really been a fan of highlighter or anything that added shimmers to my face since I have oily skin. Lately, my skin's been a bit on the drier side so I've been testing out some highlighters. Mind you, I'm still a n00b when it comes to highlighting but I really like using Benefit's High Beam, a pearlescent pink. Another option is using a not-so-pigmented eyeshadow, like Covergirl's Single Eyeshadow in Vanilla. Some blushes already come with some shimmer bits in them so that can double up as your highlighter as well!

5. Eyeliner--To bring a pop of color to my eyes, I like to use colored eyeliners. Some of my favorites are the  NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils (Cottage Cheese and Lavender) and  and the e.lf. Shimmer Eyeliners (Precious Pink, Grassy Green, and Twinkle Teal) for affordable picks.

6. Nails--Pastel nails are perfect for Spring. Some of my favorite colors to wear are lilac (e.l.f. Lilac and Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac), mint (Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet) and pale blue (essie Bikini So Teeny and Wet N Wild I Need a Refreshmint). I recently fell in love with essie's The More the Merrier and e.lf.'s Prissy Chrissy for a bright and nude option, respectively.

7. Body Lotion--Body butters are a bit too heavy for my body in the Spring so I like using Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 15. You should use sunscreen all year round but it's especially important in the sunny Spring to protect your skin. This two in one product makes it easy to remember your sunscreen. Make sure you reapply often, ideally every 2 hours if you're going to be in the sun!

8. Scent--In the winter, I like to wear heavy, sexy scents but in the Spring, I like to keep it fresh and floral. Some of my favorites so far are Versace Bright Crystal (fresh and floral), Marc Jacobs Honey (sweet and fruity), Tocca Guiletta (sweet and floral), and DKNY Be Delicious (fresh and fruity).
