BEAUTY ROUNDUP | Year in Beauty: 2016 Edition Part 1

Welcome to my first post of 2017! It's been another 366 days around the sun and many a beauty love has been discovered. In previous years, I chose four products in six categories to talk about. Strategic buying made this year's list harder to compile because I really do love so many things! Some things will come as no surprise but there are others that are just getting their spotlight now. I'll link to related blog posts so y'all can get more information if you're interested. I've split it into two parts and this one will be all my makeup loves. BLOGMAS | Day 7: Candy Cane-Inspired Christmas Makeup

Christmas is less than seven hours away as I'm writing this post! I've been super behind on #Blogmas due to family commitments but I'll continue to post what I have planned because I think they still fit it with the winter season. This look was inspired by a candy cane, though it's a shame I don't have one to eat right now. I'm also documenting the Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette for y'all so I'm doubly excited! As I'm writing this, it's Christmas Eve! I don't know if my level of excitement is noticeable but I cannot wait to see my family and chow down. EMPTIES | September 2016

September has gone by so quickly that I feel like I have whip lash. I've been focusing on using up my stash instead of buying things so I feel quite proud of the empty products I've amassed. As I continue to clean up my collection, I'm throwing out things that have gone off or just don't make me feel happy, because what is makeup for if not to make me feel good about myself? Anyhoo, let's get into the details!

BEAUTY REVIEW | June & July 2015 ♥

Hello everyone! I'm a bit behind on my blogging schedule so you're getting a triple feature today--yay! I know you can't get enough of me, ha ha. Joking aside, I know we're well into August now but since I have no wishes to combine three months into one post, you'll get one now and another at the end of the month! If you're unfamiliar with my Beauty Reviews, I basically talk about most of the products I've been using in the past month--the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some are new discoveries, some are old so yeah, it's one big ol' review since I don't always have a lot to say about certain products (shocker, I know). So with that intro, let's get on with the show!

HAUL + MINI-REVIEWS + EOTD | ⁂ Sephora Annual VIB Rouge Sale ⁂

With 20% off at Sephora, temptation was too great and I picked up a few things I was interested in. As you can see, I restrained myself to 4 items so this will be quick! Reviews for some of the items are forthcoming :D I forgot to photograph the Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer - Collector's Edition in Midnight in Paris but the long and short of it is that I liked the dark, almost black color and the application but the shine wore off way too quickly for me and chipped sooner than I'd expect from a $24usd bottle of polish, even though I used my usual base and top coat.

HAUL┊ Sephora VIB Rouge Sale

So I know I'm supposed to be on a no-buying ban but the Sephora VIB Rouge Sale was just too tempting for me to pass up. I did control myself, picking up only 3 things for myself (the other two items are for my mom). The 4x bonus points was a good deal :D

I griped a lot when I hit VIB Rouge and this is a continuation of a previous post where I talked about the gifts I received for hitting VIB Rouge. Anyhoo, enough blabbing--let's get into the haul!

Sooooo many bloggers talked about this little lippie so I had to try out one. With 16 colors available, I had a hard time picking. I eventually left with Dior Addict Fluid Stick in 689 Vertigo. This is my first luxury brand lip product and I'm excited to report that this is a major hit with me! It goes on glossy but dries down to a comfortable semi-matte stain. Eating and drinking does not disturb this color too much. It wears down evenly so there isn't awkward lip ring action going on here. Scent-wise, it isn't unpleasant nor is it overpowering. The vibrant pink is bright but not neon, so it's perfect for summertime. I forgot about it for a while but I will definitely be pulling it out more often now! The only thing standing between me and more of these babies is the price. At $35USD each, these Fluid Sticks are quite a pretty penny. Still, my eyes can't stop looking at 893 Trompe L'Oeil, a raspberry plum shade.

The Christian Dior 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Compact** in 080 Basic Chic is my first eyeshadow quint I ever got. It's a very basic quint, great for everyday.
