⇥ AT A GLANCE ⇤
Rolling right in for the holidays, the Urban Decay Full Frontal Lipstick Stash includes 3 limited edition colors as well as 3 all-time favorites housed in an elaborately decorated box. The Revolution Lipsticks are formulated with jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter, and shea butter to provide a smooth texture, intense pigmentation, easy color dispersion, and superior longevity. To perfect your lip and keep your pout looking beautiful all day and night, a full sized 24/7 Glide-on Lip Pencil in Ozone is the perfect lip liner to match a variety of lip colors!⇥ THE BREAKDOWN ⇤
Each mini Revolution Lipstick contains 0.035oz of product ($8.56usd value), for a total of 0.21oz of product. A full sized lipstick retails for $22usd with 0.09oz of product ($244.44usd per oz). The value of this set is $51.33usd, not counting the lip liner. Including the $20usd Glide-on Lip Pencil, you're only paying $39usd for a set valued at $71.33usd--not bad!The limited edition colors are Ladyflower, Crush, and Illicit. The permanent colors are Gash, Liar, and F-bomb. A quick note: on the Urban Decay site, I couldn't find Gash so I'm not sure if it is available online or store-only. Liar and F-bomb are part of the permanent line-up, which includes 22 shades.
⇥ PACKAGING ⇤
Let's talk about the beautiful box it came in. Though made of cardboard, the matte x-rayed orchids is such a mysterious and sensual design, which fits in with Urban Decay's image. It elegantly displays the lovely lipsticks and looks very luxurious. My only con is that the styrofoam encasing the lipsticks and lip liner is not removable so the box can't be repurposed for something else. It's a pity since the packaging is sooooo pretty. I'm going to try harder to remove it since I don't want to recycle the packaging.Onto the lipsticks themselves! They're an exact replica of the full-sized lipsticks, which is highly appreciated. The high-shine chrome finish definitely stands out in my sea of lipsticks and the purple case complements the steel gray outer packaging well. Twisting mechanism is smooth and unproblematic. Case securely snaps onto the base so no fear of the cap coming loose in a handbag.
⇥ FORMULA & FEEL ⇤
The shape of the lipsticks themselves is quite handy. The rounded flat top allows for precise lining, which is necessary with these highly pigmented lipsticks.
Thanks to something called the Maxi Lips, these Revolution Lipsticks are quite moisturizing. I only wore them a couple of times but my lips didn't dry out or flake like they do with a more matte formula. I wouldn't classify any of these as a matte. These are all very satin finish, with the exception of Illicit, which I think is quite glossy for a lipstick. They aren't so soft that I fear breaking the bullet of I twist it up too much but aren't dense as to skip across my lips. These lipsticks are the right balance of softness and pigment--definitely a superior formula!
While these don't feel drying on the lips, I still recommend having smooth lips as that will showcase the awesomeness of these lipsticks the best. The intense pigment may highlight flakey lips.
⇥ SCENT ⇤
When I was testing these lipsticks, I had quite a severe cold that prevented me from breathing comfortably, let alone smelling my cosmetics. I've never heard anybody complain about the scent of these lipsticks before but as soon as I'm back to my apartment (as I'm currently at home for Thanksgiving holiday), I'll give these little ones a quick whiff and update for you sensitive peeps. :D
⇥ APPLICATION & PIGMENTATION ⇤
These seriously blow all other lipsticks away when it comes to pigmentation. Granted, I haven't tried many lipstick formulas as I'm not a fan of anything that feels heavy and isn't long-wearing but I am seriously in awe of the intense pigmentation. One swipe literally covers my pigmented mauvey lips. Sometimes, the mauvy lips change the undertone of the lipstick I'm wearing but these show up true to color for me--what you see is what you get on the lips--except for Illicit since the formula is a sheerer type. I swear that the swatches done below are one very light pressure swatch. My jaw was a bit sore after how many times it hit the floor looking at each swatch, haha.Application was smooth and almost fuss-free. These did not skip or go all over the place. While my lips are not thin, they aren't Angelina Jolie-lucious either but I didn't have a problem with the bullet being too large for my lips. The slanted, thin edge really helped me get a precise line on the outside (no need for lip liner!) but the flat side helped fill in my lips quickly with just a one swipe (more for Illicit but it's really sheer, lip balm-like). Thanks to the Pigment Infusing System, we get the best of all worlds: intense pigmentation, smooth application, and buttery texture.
⇥ WEAR TIME ⇤
I can't really speak on this much as I literally wore it for swatches only and a few when I went out, but a couple of them left a stain on my arm even after I used a makeup wipe to remove them. With the Glide-On Lip Pencil, I'm sure these will last a very long time.
**UPDATE 12/18/14** I have worn Ladyflower with Ozone only on the perimeter of my lips out to dinner, eating pasta with tomato sauce and salad. Ladyflower didn't transfer onto my cup but I don't press my lips on the cup too hard--just enough so water doesn't spill down my throat, haha. At the end of dinner, I noticed a teeny bit of color loss toward the inner part of my lips but for the most part, Ladyflower was mostly intact. My friends didn't notice the lipstick ring but it helps that Ladyflower is close to my natural lip color--and the dim lighting helped too, I'm sure! Will be updating on the other colors as I continue to test them! Gash has even better staying power than Ladyflower! It has a slightly tacky feeling that I've not encountered from a lipstick before; however, it isn't uncomfortable nor sticky. Pressing my lips together and whatnot does not move the color--after two hours of drinking water, Gash looks exactly the same as when I applied it and doesn't feel drying. It has transferred slightly to my cup but my lips still look perfect. Usually, by this time, my lips will start to feel dry or the products have moved, but thanks to Ozone, Gash looks perfect. I am completely won over by Ozone and will bring it with me for the holiday party dinners!
⇥ SWATCHES ⇤
I apologize ahead of time for the swatches. I was taking these pictures on a cloudy day so lighting was chaotic as the sun kept going in and out of the clouds. I tried to adjust them during post-editing but with my rudimentary photography skills, this is the best I can get. The last picture would be the most accurate but the others show the shine, color, etc. Anyhoo, I hope the swatches help you in someway! I didn't bother swatching Ozone because it just shows up clear and non-shiny on my arm. I also had lip swatches but I seem to have lost the pictures. I've been sick with a cold for the past two weeks so I didn't want to infect my lipsticks with germs but I'm feeling much better now so I will update with lip swatches when I get back.
Ladyflower is described as a bright rose pink. On my skintone, it looks like a pink-mauve color. This is definitely my favorite shade and of course it HAD to be a limited edition one. No worries though, it looks similar enough to many other mauvey pinks in my collection. When I get back, I will go through my collection to see if I have any close enough dupes for others interested in this shade!Crush is a hot pink color. Most hot pinks are a bit too blue-toned for me but this one is just really pretty on my light medium skin tone. It's super pigmented like the rest so no problems there. It looked a bit scary in the tube at first because it had like a lime green metallic shine to it--very similar to a Sinful Colors nail polish I have but sadly, none of that green transferred to my swatch or lips.
Illicit is a sheer baby pink. This one took about five layers to get the intensity you see in these photos. I was a bit disappointed in this shade but it's a pretty pink for layering I guess. Urban Decay is known for their bold and intense looks so this was a bit odd for them but it's alright for those who are a bit color-shy.

Liar is a pinky-brown nude. Now I normally would not gravitate towards such a color but it doesn't look half bad on me. I've always been a bold lips kind of girl so nudes scare the life out of me (literally, nude lips are like zombie lips) but it's all about finding one that complements rather than washes you out. While I still think Liar is still a scary color, it makes nudes less scary for a makeup wimp like me, hehe.
F-bomb is a classic red. It's not too warm where it makes my teeth look yellow but it isn't too blue where I look dead. It's just the prettiest red ever (and I have quite a few of those). Since it's such a bold color, I like to dab it a couple of times on my lips and blend out the color with a finger for a stain effect. My lips are quite pigmented but with just one swipe, they are completely covered--what you see is what you get. It makes my lips look so pretty and flushed, very Snow White-esque. :D There's also red shimmers in it but I cannot feel it on my lips. It's not very visible from speaking distance but it lends a really nice fullness to my lips without using plumpers or lip lining, etc--great for fuller lips without the work!

⇥ OTHER THOUGHTS ⇤
When I first saw online pictures, I though I wouldn't like Liar, F-Bomb, or Gash. However, I ended up falling in love with every shade as soon as I put it on my lips, which just goes to show you--don't judge a bullet in the case, try it on first!
This lip liner is a lonely army of one in my makeup collection. Since I usually wear stains or long-wearing formulas, I never had a need for lip liner. Ozone is completely transparent so you can wear with any lip color to prevent feathering. It won't really correct lip lines but it can make your lipstick last longer. I still haven't really tried this out but there are similar dupes at the drugstore, like the Milani one, so I don't think this exact one is essential. I think it needs to be sharpened as it's not a twist-up pencil. But it's a nice addition nonetheless. **UPDATE 12/19/14** I am a convert--I have never used lip liners before this but Ozone is freakin' amazing! My lip line looks perfect, not a stray lipstick has gone out! I still want to try the Milani one but right now, Ozone is where it's at!
⇥ BOTTOM LINE ⇤
I highly recommend getting this set, especially if you've never tried the Revolution formula! The pigmentation is great, the texture is great, and the colors are varied enough for a lot of looks. If you dab instead of swipe, you can get a less intense look, doubling the number of ways you can wear these lipsticks! Even if you are a fan of these, you're getting 3, possibly 4, limited edition shades so it's still a good deal for the UD fans. The value of this kit is pretty good--it's like you're getting the pencil and two mini lipsticks for free! Right now is a good time to buy as ebates is doing 8% cash back on Sephora and 10% cash back on Ulta's site. Urban Decay is doing free shipping on all orders until Cyber Monday so grab this kit before it's gone!
