v
Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Bright
Raspberry – I’ve just posted a review about these so I won’t ramble on
about these. The TL;DR version is that these are long lasting, pigmented, and
easy to use. The price isn’t too bad on these either and I am interested in
getting more. Luckily for my wallet, these are only offered in 8 shades, of
which I own 3.
v Revlon Just Kissable Balm Stain in 025 Sweetheart/Valentine – I remember being
obsessed with these back in the day. Back when they were released, there
weren’t many drugstore versions of the popular Clinique Chubby Sticks. I still
haven’t tried the Clinique version but I’m quite happy with these. I have 9 out
of the 10 available (but I remember there was a lavender one called Darling or
something) so that speaks to how much I love these! This one is a bright warm
pink that doesn’t make my teeth look yellow. The minty smell is still present
but there’s no stinging once on the lips.
v Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in 001 India
Intrigue – I didn’t know what to expect when I saw these. These are an
interesting hybrid between lip gloss and lip stain. I normally abhor lip gloss
but once these dry, the staining takes over. I do have a review on the three
that I have so check it out for a more detailed overview!
v Lorac Pro Palette 2 – I was in love with the original palette! The matte
colors were easy to use, the shimmer shadows were not overly sparkly and more
importantly, every color was quite wearable for every day use. When I heard a
sequel was out, I immediately placed my order. While this one hasn’t been an
instant hit with me, I’ve slowly grown to like it and do think it complements
the original palette very well. Check out my review for more detailed pictures
and swatches!
v The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette – The Youtube community went nuts over this a while
back. When I saw the palette at Sephora, I didn’t think much of it and decided
against getting it. However, I soon regretted my decision when I saw how
wonderful it made people’s skin yet it was out of stock. Due to popular demand,
the palette is back. The shades included inspired by lighting situations that
flatter the complexion: Dim Light, Incandescent Light, and Radiant Light. I mostly use Incandescent Light, exclusive to this
palette, to highlight my face. Dim Light matches
my skin well and I use that all over the face when I over powder, start to look
cakey, or when my face seems too matte. Radiant
Light is a bit dark for my skintone but too light to be a bronzer or
contour shade. I do really like it but the powder does kick up a lot of dust so
be careful not to swirl your brush roughly in them.
v Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Pact – This was very popular among Korean bloggers and for
good reason! It’s a lifesaver for us oily skinned people during the hot summer.
While I’m not as oily as I used to be, this hasn’t been taken out much. I like
to alternate with powder and blotting powder to avoid cake face. This comes in
two formulas: loose and in a compact. I decided upon the compact, even if it
was more expensive, but I rarely used loose powders and it’s so messy. I like
taking this on the go to touch up my face, which is easy to do thanks to the
mirror and little puff. You don’t need a lot to soak up the oil so go easy with
this. There was a nice embossing on it but that’s worn off now.
v DIY Foundation – The result of a tinted moisturizer that I bought recently in a shade
that is too dark and the wrong undertone for me. It was past the date that I could
return it and the nearest store was an hour away. Instead of tossing it, I
decided to see what I could do. I’m not going to go into details here but with
a few other items I had lying around, I was able to fix this situation! I love
this concoction so much that I’ve been wearing this all month. I love how it
matches my skin exactly while keeping me matte. The matte-ness is great but I
do use it in conjunction with the Hourglass
Ambient Lighting Palette to give it a more skin-like feel. I will be
posting about this very soon!
v MakeupMiser – Aside from the cute name, these are very
effective. I like that it comes in three sizes to fit small or large bottles. I
do wish the handle was longer and less flimsy. It was harder to reach into my
larger lotion bottles so I had to cut those open. It was easier to scoop the
remaining lotion using the Miser
than a spoon so it wasn’t a total dud. Sephora and other brands do have their
own so you definitely have options. Definitely a good $15 USD
spent!
S So these were my favorite items these past 2 months! It's a bit lip heavy but as I've been wearing less makeup, a bright lip is a must to make me look more put together. Let me know about some of your favorite items down below!
