Posting this one time for once--yay! February was a slow month for me in the number of products I finished but I'm using up more of my full sized products. This one has a couple of repeats but that just shows you how much I love them! Let's jump right into the items I'm sad to see go.
Supergoop! Sunscreen Day Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 40 -- 1fl. oz/30ml
I'm on my second tube of Supergoop! Everyday Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++ so I really like this sunscreen. I decided to give this new one a try because my skin was feeling quite dry this winter. The Day Cream is paraben, fragrance, avobenzone and oil-free, which is great for sensitive skin. This sunscreen claims to be anti-aging and shine-free but I did see shine throughout the day. It's thicker than the Everyday Sunscreen but the Day Cream is nowhere near as thick as a cream. The consistency reminds me of liquid Elmer's glue but thankfully, doesn't smell like it. While I liked how it moisturized my skin, the white cast from the zinc oxide ruined it for me. The white cast isn't as stark as some other sunscreens I tried but it's enough to lighten the foundation I applied on top. Applying a thinner layer will help minimize that white cast further. Only thing is, it's only available in the City & Sand Travel-Sized Suncare Tote for $45usd.
Bottom Line: Would not repurchase

Biore Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser -- $ 6.47usd for 8.46fl oz/250ml
I used to use a lot of drugstore skincare but found that it didn't work for me. The Biore Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser was okay for a while but it really dried my skin out. It got to the point where my face looked oily but felt really dry and tight. The inclusion of laureth-4 (3rd ingredient out of 17) and sodium laureth sulfate (6th ingredient out of 17) most likely contributed to the drying out of my skin. It also contains fragrance that's quite strong. Though pleasant-smelling, I could do without it. There's no dyes, it's oil-free and the ingredients list isn't too long so it's not all bad. I was disappointed in it but I repurposed it to clean my makeup brushes--which it did perfectly! My brushes also smelled really nice for a couple of days too so it wasn't a total loss.
Bottom Line: Would repurchase but for deep cleaning my brushes, not my face

CVS Pharmacy Make-up Remover Cleansing Cloth Towelettes -- $5.99usd for 25 towelettes
Makeup wipes are horrible for your skin but when I'm really tired or need to remove arm swatches, they are handy. It doesn't dry out, even down to the last wipe. This one is large enough for my face without being overly saturated. The textured weave makes me feel like I'm removing makeup more efficiently but I still have residue. To remove every last bit, I use some toner on a cotton pad. It's a standard size -- 7.4 x 7.2 in (18.7cm x 18.2cm) -- and it's not particularly special but it gets the job done in a pinch.
Bottom Line: Would repurchase

Lancome Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover Sample-- 1.7 fl oz/50ml | $29usd for 4.2oz | $39usd for 6.7oz
I received this in a GWP from Nordstrom and was quite excited. It's a duo phase type, which is my favorite kind. It does contain the typical Lancome rose scent but it's quite subtle. Lancome claims that it is suitable for all skin types, removes waterproof, and is good for sensitive eyes. However, I had a hard time removing my mascara completely without some rubbing. It also made my eyes feel a bit dry after use, which I didn't experience with my Neutrogena Eye-Makeup Remover. For the price, I would have expected it to be much more effective.
Bottom Line: Would not repurchase

Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover -- $4.92-$7.99usd 5.5 fl oz/162 ml
I've tried a couple eye makeup removers before but I always come back to this one. It removes my eye and lip makeup well without tugging or rubbing. There's no color additives or parabens so it's great for sensitive skin. Though it's oil-free there is a bit of residue that doesn't feel heavy and keeps my eyes moisturized. You know what they say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
Bottom Line: Would repurchase
Simple Pleasures Shower Gel in Vanilla Bloom -- 4.1 fl oz/ 120 ml
I've tried several scents from Simple Pleasures and they either smelled cheap or weren't very pleasant. The one in Vanilla Bloom, however, really appealed to me. The shower gel is clear so that makes me feel happy. Scent was a mixture of vanilla, which I'm usually not a fan of, and floral. The vanilla isn't the sickly sweet kind but sharper, if that makes sense. Sad to see this one go...
Bottom Line: Wouldn't repurchase. Looking for a more moisturizing kind since my skin is quite dry.
Juicy Couture Couture La La Eau de Parfum Sample -- $72usd for 1.7oz

Juicy Couture Couture La La Eau de Parfum Sample -- $72usd for 1.7oz
I have tons of these little vials everywhere from orders so I'm trying to use them up. I'm not good at describing scents so here are the notes:
Topnote:Sparking Mandarin, Water Hyacinth, Green Apple, Red Currant
Midnote:Lily of the Valley, Blushing Peony, Violet Leaves, Orange Flower
Drydown:Smooth Woods, Liquid Musk
On me, it smells floral and fresh. The scent isn't strong or headache-inducing but it lasts well on my skin--about 4-6 hours before I don't notice it anymore.
Bottom Line: I like it but don't know if I would pay for a full size.

Velvet 59 Lip Gloss in Noisette -- $19usd for 0.35fl oz/10ml
If you read my January 2015 Ipsy Bag, you'll know I don't like this lip gloss at all. It leaks, the smell isn't great, and the gloss isn't pigmented at all. There's some other colors but I'm not interested in trying any others.
Bottom Line: Would not repurchase
I've finished a couple more items this month but I'll save it for next month's post since I already took this photo. Thought this one is too pretty to redo xD Just realized that this is my 199th post--the next one marks 200 posts on MWAH :D Will probably hold a giveaway to commemorate. Going to ramble up some items for y'all :D

Let me know what items you finished up lately!
I'm curious to see what y'all love and continue to repurchase.
I used to use the Lancome Bi-Facil. I think it's super effective but I just don't care for the oily residue it leaves behind. The Neutrogena one is a close dupe at a much cheaper price! But my favorite right now is the Chanel bi-phase remover. It removes EVERYTHING and leaves zero oiliness. The skin around my eyes always feels refreshed afterwards. :D Wish it wasn't so expensive, though!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wasn't blown away by the Lancome, especially since the Neutrogena has been a staple for years. Now I want to try the Chanel but I'm not ready to jump into the luxury world just yet xD
