Since I'm running out of my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (unboxing), I decided to pick up the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream--whew, long a$$ name, huh? Thanks to the Sephora + COLOR IQ tool, I was able to figure out my correct shade, 03 Buttercream. I've only been using it for about two weeks but so far, I love it! The coverage is on the lighter side but can be built up to medium without looking cakey or heavy. I could go on and on but I'm saving a full review of it for later. Check back later this week for my full thoughts!
Fresh, flawless skin seems to be in for fall, as well as strobing, so I went straight the source of all things glow and natural, BECCA Cosmetics. I've been a fan for ages but it wasn't readily available in the US. Now that it is, I couldn't resist adding a few more pieces to my small but growing BECCA collection. I appreciate these minis since I would've paid a whole lot more individually. The BECCA Radiant Glow Collection contains 4 items to give you their signature glow look. Building upon the success of the Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflés, BECCA released the Beach Tint Lip Shimmer Soufflé in 6 colors, inspired by combining their best-selling Skin Perfectors and Beach Tints into a lip form. I have Raspberry/Opal, a deep berry pink with gold shimmers. The kit also contains the uber-famous Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone, a pale gold. The next item included is the Under Eye Brightening Corrector. I used to steer away from pink-toned products but after giving the Revlon PhotoReady Eye Brightener and Primer a go, call me a convert! I've only used this twice so my thoughts are complete just yet. Lastly, the product that is in almost every makeup artist's kit and highly recommended by Lisa Eldridge: the Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, a golden champagne pearl. It's quite subtle but I'm excited to experiment with it some more.
Urban Decay is known for their eyeshadows and since I like my Naked 3 Palette, I wanted to try some of their singles. Since ULTA was having a sale for $11usd per shadow, I jumped on it and picked up three. Mushroom is a shimmery warm pale grey. I've been meaning to incorporate more grey into my looks and with soft smokey eyes making a comeback this season, I thought, why not? Toasted is a shimmery antique copper penny. It's not what I expected and might actually go back since I have several coppery shades. Lastly, Sin is a shimmery champagne. It's just the right shade of pale pink for me but I might have to see if I have a comparable shade in my collection. If I do, this too, will go back. Nevertheless, it's a gorgeous shade that reminds me of a Sleek eyeshadow.
And that's all the items I picked up! Reviews for the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Cream and the BECCA Radiant Glow Collection will be forthcoming. It's been raining the past two days here in California so I've been trapped at home, churning post after post. I hope the weather is more pleasant where you are! Now I'm off to check on my brownies. ;)
