REVIEW| Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

Hello everyone! I'm here today to hopefully dispel those Monday blues with a review on the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque (ˆ▽ˆ) I've never really been big on masks before but I had these pimples that were under my skin and just didn't want to come to a head. DulceCandy87 recommended this for helping the skin purge so I decided to try it out!

I found mine at Walgreens for 3 or 4 dollars, which is a steal, considering you get 8 ounces of product (226.8 g). It claims to dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads, and shrink enlarged pores. I find that it does live up to these claims! My face feels less oily and clean after I remove the mask. It does feel a little tight but I quickly apply my night cream to remedy that feeling.

I like to apply this mask at night after I've washed and exfoliated my face once or twice a week. It comes out in a thick green goop. It's a bit hard to spread on the face but that might be because of the kaolin, which helps absorb extra oil in the skin. The ingredients list is very short which is good because I don't want any fillers or things to irritate my skin. With that being said, it does contain methylparaben, which some people are against but since it's the last ingredient on the list, I'm fine with that. It also contains fragrance, which does irritate some people. So far, I have not broken out using this product (more than half of the bottle to be exact). It smells minty and give your face a tingly feeling that was a bit uncomfortable when I first used it. My face doesn't tingle anymore but it does feel cooling when I apply this mask. It says to leave it on for 15 minutes or so, but sometimes I go over that time and nothing seems wrong so far. Once it starts drying, it's hard to move your face--don't try to move your facial muscles when this mask is on because it could give you wrinkles if you strain against it!

After the first three uses, I noticed that my skin was softer and smoother. Any pimples I had were visibly diminished by the next morning, which is amazing! I stopped using spot treatments because I find that they left hyperpigmentation scars afterwards, which is hard to get rid of. I do use them if I don't have a lot of time to wait for the pimple to heal on its own. Using this does take longer for the pimple to die down but it doesn't leave me with any scars. (✿◠‿◠)

So that's it for this review! I highly recommend checking it out if you have combination or oily skin. My roommate, who has more of a normal skin type, loves this product as well, so it's suitable for most skin types. If you have any other questions, please leave a comment down below!✿◕ ‿ ◕✿
